The Official 2012 US Draft Thread

It's about that time to get this thing started again. If you have interest, indicate so in this thread. If you don't know what I am talking about use the Search function and you can pull up other editions of the draft and the rules. (Basics are snake draft, usually 12 teams, usually 18 rounds, 2 GK's required to be taken). I will rebump the rules threads as there are always issues with players and eligibility.

General rules:
1. Snake Draft
2. 18 Rounds
3. Only US eligible players who have not yet declared for another country or who have not been capped by another country.

If there is a question, PM me and I will consult with the soccer gods (anyone want to help?) and try to make a ruling and keep an inactive list.....
Last year's inactive list is always a good starting point.

5. Must draft 2 GK's
6. Last year we had 18-20 interested, so we will try to pair up people to be on a team together to get everyone in, however, if we only have 12 than it will be easier. THe point of having a partner is so that all picks are made within 12 hours (IF NOT SOONER) not to delay all of your picks the full 12 hours until your partner gets in. Discuss things before it is your turn.
7. 12 hour time limit for your pick, if you miss you can come in and pick at anytime after your 12 hours has expired. List will be provided of people you can send your proxy too (I.E. have no life and are on here too much) and/or you can send your proxy to the next person who is drafting so they can come in and make your pick and their pick.
8. Rather than just posting "I select ___________." Try to provide some information on the player including pictures/videos/whatever you can find to educate us as to why you took him and as to what position you think he will play on your team. The more information, the better.
9. Voting at middle of year (julyish) and in January of next year.
10. We will start when we have a full roster of 12 and then we will do draft order and have a 1 day cushion before we get going. If you are late to this thread, post your interest and we will try to incorporate you into a team.
11. After you pick, YOU MUST PM the next person!!!!!!!! It helps a lot.
12. Absolutely no posting of players who should have been selected instead. You can say things like "I prefer other forwards still on the board", but stay away from "You should have selected Danny Cruz instead".
13. Let's try to keep things friendly. I believe last year there was someone who picked a player relatively early and the pick was "mocked" a bit including by myself. The result was the kid quit and dropped out mid-draft. It's all for fun.....so let's keep it fun.

Since there is always more interest than the number of teams, please indicate:
A) Want to run it by myself only
B) Want to pair up with someone
C) Will Pair up if necessary

First come first serve, and weight is given to past participants, but this draft is always helped out by new blood.

I think I am going to sit this one out as I am extremely busy.

 

Looks like we are one away from getting things rolling..........Once that spot is filled, I will jump on a random number generator site and post the draft order based on the numbers 1-12 that come out. Maybe we will add some intrigue and start with 12 and go to 1 with each one coming out every hour or so. That will also give everyone a 1/2 day to kind of get ready for this thing to start which should be soon.
