It's interesting how similar this year's San Jose Earthquakes team has been thus far compared to the Golden Age San Jose Earthquakes and even to the Golden Age San Francisco 49ers, insofar as that while each team has/had a top scorer (Chris Wondolowski for the current San Jose Earthquakes, Baby Judas for most of the Golden Age San Jose Earthquakes and Jerry Rice for most of the Golden Age San Francisco 49ers), they by far weren't the teams' only scoring threats. Thanks! Exactly, Golden age 9ers was when I was the biggest football fan and before I became completely obsessed with soccer. We definitely deserve the team we have now after so much frustration and heartbreak. This team reminds me of the golden age Quakes in that there is a lot of magic happening on the field. Wouldn't it be awesome if we had the world record for a groundbreaking ceremony as well? I'm trying to remember how many showed up at cesar chavez park to keep the Quakes in San Jose . . . We've come a long way but I see only good days to come!

I've seen the goal (though '02 was the year before I moved here) but the link in the article didn't work for me. It goes to some A'/Quakes network login page. I'd probably rate as #2 the one by DeRo vs LA in '04 or '05 where he hit that venomous shot around the wall that came back inside the post. GOTY, wasnt it? had to be doing 100 mph...
