So with the two upcoming mini tournaments as well as the two friendlies against Spain/England U-23 we have plenty of time to get warmed up for Olympics. Isn't that Brazil friendly in June U-23 also or something like that?
i think Brazil will be fielding a Sub-23 team for that game, but we'll be using our Senior squad. this game will mainly serve as preparation for our WC qualifiers later that same month. also, most likely a couple of players that will be playing in the Olympics like Chicharito, Gio, Vela, etc. will play that game as well.
Mexico Line-up [1] Jose CORONA (GK) [2] Francisco RODRIGUEZ [3] Mario PEREZ [5] Israel LOPEZ [6] Aaron GALINDO [7] ZINHA [8] Diego MARTINEZ (-74') [9] Omar BRAVO (-46') [10] Luis PEREZ [11] Rafael MARQUEZ [15] Hugo SANCHEZ (-46') Substitute(s) [4] Ismael RODRIGUEZ [12] Gonzalo PINEDA (+46') [13] Amaury PONCE [14] Juan Pablo GARCIA (+74') [16] Ismael INIGUEZ (+46') [17] Gerardo ESPINOZA [18] Guillermo OCHOA Coach Ricardo LA VOLPE (ARG) Looking back at that team and taking out the overage players or even including them, what a bunch of failures and never were they endend up being. Ochoa and Corona of course are the best ones along with Maza Rodriguez. Zinha and Bravo of the overage at least did something with the NT (it's pathetic they wasted a spot on Israel Lopez). And Luis Perez at least had a good club career and went to a world cup. But the rest were all mediocre or failures for the NT and even their clubs. Galindo and Pineda at least were on the radar but far from what was expected. And some of them endend up being pretty pathetic (Gerardo Espinoza, Loco Garcia, Hugo Sanchez ). I hope it's the total opposite for this team and it's members.
I watched the U21 Euros last year and I wasn't all that impressed by Switzerland, even though they swept their group, they barely got past the Czechs in overtime and were completely outmatched by spain in the final (2-0 for spain iirc). But then spain couldn't get past Belarus until overtime, even though belarus advanced on a three way tie breaker whose result was quite unfair given that they were the ones who had played worst in the group. It was a weird and unpredictable tourney... switzerland could really go either way... Amazing how easy a group brazil got though...
Inler won't be there. Our roster will come from this list. It's hard to say what the final team will look like, especially if some clubs don't co-operate after all. Our star - if released by Bayern - will of course be Xherdan Shaqiri: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZlSfo0AF3s"]Xherdan Shaqiri ? Thanks, that Shaqiri guy looks solidly built, not sure Reyes could force his authority on that tank . /p
Spain had already announced their Olympic squad since February? http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/spain-announce-olympic-squad/ That's a ridiculous squad, them and Brazil are clearly favorites for gold.
How legit is that? Article from a few days ago: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ootball-team-2012-roster-predictions-analysis
Yea that's where I got the link from. Don't know if it's legit or not hard to call Spain and UK's squad because of EURO.
I don't think it's real, we'll have to wait and see. But either way Spain is still a threat no matter who they bring.
looking forward to this matchup. hope to be in LA to watch this grouping. good luck though Im pretty sure many consider Mexico to go at the top of the group. mexico vs s korea is always a charged match though.
if Spain does take some over age players, it will probably be guys that don't go to the Euro Cup i just remembered that the Swiss won the Sub-17 WC in 2009, so the base of their Olympic team will be players from that tournament Korea has always been a team that relies on speed and that's about it. luckily for us, we've got one of the fastest teams we've ever had and most of our offensive guys are proven scorers - Chicharito, Fabian, Vela, etc. i don't know anything about Gabon. but seeing as how they're African, they've got physically imposing players.
Respuesta: Re: The official 2012 Olympic Soccer games con chile en molcajete style Y todos en sus 30s.
There goes our chance of winning that shit, so out of those 20 players going to Tulon 5 will be cut unless they make some shit up to not call Gio and Jona, I know when it comes to make shit up the FMF are the world champions so expecting the worst.
Vela declined the Olympics and senior national team to train with a mediocre Spanish team, what a slag c u nt
