No, it changes as you get older. When she's 24 and he's 31, it's an issue for fewer people on the outside.

I'd like to think we try to set the age a bit above what we really think it ought to be to prevent just the sort of discussion we're having here. I'll bet a 17 year-old girl who's willing to go look for sex and then go Facebook afterward -regardless of who it was with- has had enough of it not to have been taken advantage of for sex.

I don't think the measure I suggested earlier would ever pass any lawmaking body. Not just because it doesn't assume the same level of harm in sexual activity for both genders, but because not many people would support a qualification of majority status.

    Your expectations are too high.

The guy is 24 years old and has been a star of some sort for the last ten. Meaning he'd have had to have been born into the sort of household that creates intelligent, mature young people (Grant Hill), or he'd have had to go out of his way as a teenager :D to make himself into that kind of person to get... girls? Grades? Fame? I think a lot of people would still be about mentally even with a 17 year-old, put in that setting.

Not to mention that she wasn't really there to talk anyhow. So then neither was he...

We know how this all works. We give a shit now because its become public. Give it a month or two after he gets bashed and then we'll go back to worrying about whether or not there's an NFL season to be played. What Big Ben did with that girl sounds a lot worse than what Sanchez did and most Steeler fans still love him, so I wouldn't worry. I know it sounds like I'm sticking up for him because he's my QB, but I honestly think it will eventually blow over.

Deadspin, has got TMZ completely beat on this subject. First Favre and Jenn Sterger followed by Rex Ryan and his wife and now Sanchez.

Yeah. Boy did Deadspin do a great job of inventing a story about nothing.

Mark lives at Trump National and we see him around here all the time. Girl friends of mine have slept with Mark before. He's doing nothing wrong but having a good time. A friend of mine knows him very well because he works at Trump and Mark gives him tickets for every Jets home game and all he tells him is load up my box with hot girls and I'll meet you guys after the game. Any 24 year old guy who is the QB for a NY football team would be doing what he's doing. Playing the field and banging every hot thing that comes your way

And that 17 year old knew exactly what she was doing and who she was fu**ing. Nothing wrong with what he did.

Titans hire new Texas DB coach/asst head coach Jerry Gray as defensive coordinator. Gray was the DB coach for Tennessee for the 1999 and 200 seasons, Def coord in Buffalo from 2001 thru 2005, DB coach in Washington from 2006-2009, and DB coach in Seattle last year. He just signed with Texas a month ago, but is now going back to Nashville.

Age is nothing but a number. I have met some 17 year olds that were more intelligent and mature than some 40 year olds that I know.

But, he may have just been chasing some ass and not known how old she was. Hell, there are 13 year olds out there dressing and looking like they are 18, it wouldnt be too far-fetched to think she may have looked like she was 24.

Good point but I think TMZ will take it further because they send people out to find stories and pay them to come back with something. We might find more out about athletes than we ever want to know and I am dreading it. I am so sick of our society digging into celebrities personal lives. Just because they are famous and make lots of money doesnt mean they dont deserve some privacy.

Seemed he had it all going for him until he left his wife. Yeah, the comments about Coughlin and Eli Manning were petty, but people often get paid to spout off if they're perceived to have some knowledge about a topic, and Barber was a Giant for years. I don't know what was going on with his marriage, but I'd advise any pro athlete or entertainer --or any obviously wealthy man, really-- to wait until his mid 30s or later before even thinking about jumping into marriage- makes no sense to do it when your popularity is at its peak and the world is available to you. Leaving your pregnant wife is a shit thing to do unless there's a question of her worth as a wife/mother (has she cheated?). The 23 year-old may have come out of something like that, but I doubt it.

At least Holmes got a belt. Tiki was 1 year short of a ring.

I didn't like Tiki as a player, I didn't like Tiki as an analyst, and I look forward to not liking Tiki as a player once again.

I don't think there's any way he gets a decent offer from anyone but the Bucs, btw.

He is going to be one pissed off miserable person as a backup running back making $350K.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Jets ask "How ya doin?" as an inquiry, though I wouldn't want this walking soap opera anywhere near New York City.

The Bucs have LeGarrette Blount. They don't need Tiki. As a matter of fact, no one needs a washed up running back.
