With the World Cup only a few months away, there will be limited time to introduce any new players into the pool. Yet, there have already been some:

    • Forwards: Julian Green* (18-22)-"needs to choose US", Mike Magee (29-33)
    • Midfielders: Eric Alexander (26-30), Dax McCarty (27-31), Luis Gil* (20-24)

It looks like you meant the first list to be centerback, not fullback.

Bet may be on Caleb Stanko too..there's been some light rumors that SC Freiburg are going to offer him a first team contract and he captained our U-20 team. I know he travelled with the first team to some of their Europa matches where I think he made the bench.

I would also include Nagbe as well for wingers.

    I know. I created it.

This isn't a 2018 player pool thread. This is a 2014 player pool thread, and who will be the new faces introduced. In other words, I want to know who is going to be part of the immediate rebuilding process.

Just to add some depth to the LB chart, I thought Dylan Remick did alright for Seattle vs Toronto. He's a 22 year old with a lot of speed that can send in accurate service instead of just booting it in there. He seems defensively pretty weak and relies on his speed a bit too much but maybe he grows out of that as that's more of a mental thing to grasp.

Honestly, it since it will be a rebuilding year, I hope to see more than just 23 faces. Also, I hope we can schedule some more MLS season games that don't fall on FIFA dates... More games, the better... And that said, i want to see the introduction of a U23 Camp Cupcake for those guys who are on the cusp but not just there yet.... Ramos would lead this camp.

    Senior Team:
    GK: S. Johnson, Hall, Hamid
    RB: Yedlin, Beltran, Sarkodie

After the World Cup I'd phase out Jones, Beckerman, Goodson, Beasley, Parkhurst, Wondo, EJ, Davis and Rimando. I wonder if Donovan and Deuce will retire

23 I'd call in after the world cup

    GK-Howard, Guzan, Johnson (Irwin)
RB-Yedlin, Chandler, (Farrell, Sarkodie, Acosta, Josh Williams, Sheanon, Beltran, Myers, Spector)
CB-Besler, Gonzalez, Brooks, Packwood (O'Neil, Okugo, Schuler, Ogunbuyi, John, Hedges, Orozco)
    LB-Lichaj, Klute (Ream, Garza)
CM-Bradley, Cameron, Mix, Williams, Gil (Powers, Rowe, Trapp, Edu, Kitchen, Morales, Stanko, Pelosi, Kljestan, Corona, Torres)
    RW-Zusi, Bedoya (DeLeon, Arriola)
F-Jozy, Johannsonn, Agudelo (Boyd, Mcinerney, Bruin, Neagle, Zardes)
LW-Fabian, Green (Shea, Castillo, Duka, Shipp)

and Nagbe should be able to join the team later I think

*Parker, Zelalem, and Toljan if they make the switch may be in there

I suspect Howard retires from the US team after the World Cup. He was seriously considering it after the last World Cup.

been watching FC Dallas all season and think Acosta has really been playing well, hes really stepped up his game on the attack this year and i though was one of the better players on the field against the Timbers

    Berti Vogts anyone?

Haven't seen/heard much from him in a while. Klinsi's got his back covered. Can't see how this is anything but a plus.

I think the new guys called in after the World Cup will be:
CB: Amobi Okugo, Chris Schuler, George John, Matt Hedges
RB: Kofi Sarkodie, Andrew Farrell, Kellyn Acosta
LB: Tim Ream, Chris Klute, Greg Garza
CM: Dillon Powers, Wil Trapp, Kelyn Rowe, Perry Kitchen, Caleb Stanko

guys like Yedlin, Lichaj, Gil, Green, Packwood should get more run too

Really excited about Stanko. I think he can possibly be the next Geoff Cameron. Except Stanko looks like he could be coming into the fray in a big league at a much younger age.

I agree with many names here, but I think this is too many guys to expect to get a run. I mean, there's only 2 CB spots. I can see Goodson maybe dropping out of consideration, but Besler and Omar aren't going anywhere (they'll still be in prime age for CB). And there's Brooks. Orozco is also still around and not too old, and JK just called him for the last camp. Packwood has gotten some calls, so no doubt he'll be in the picture

So with at least 5 CBs already in the fray, I don't see 4 new guys getting capped.

The other positions are a little more open, especially FBs. Yedlin and Chandler would likely be frontrunners to get calls at RB early on, but since Yedlin is in MLS and Chandler is in Europe, there may be chances for other names to jump in during split-camps. However, no one knows how long JK will hang on to guys like Evans, Parkhurst, or even Tony Beltran (I'm hoping not long).

So basically, yes, looking forward to seeing new guys, but I don't think that we'll see a lot of these guys soon. We also should keep in mind that Olympic prep will start, and JK may leave a lot of these guys to go to U23 camps.
