I don't think he'll be the main penalty taker, he got to take this one so he could get the hattirck I believe. It's too bad he got penalised as the original chance was a 100% goal and he would have gotten the 3 goals that way.

He's incorparating in this team very easily so far, not just because of his 2 goals but he joins in the tiki taka and moves around more than some other choices. He should have deserved his next call up already... at the very least.

Llorente is in theory the better player but he was slow and out of the game today. Soldado has looked like he wanted it. A lot. Plus, he was a lot less obvious man to mark than Llorente.
It's a good thing that Spain has started to combine some long range passing with the usual short passing game.

Arbs played CB when Ramos was on?

He's in the center with Puyol out wide in this 2nd half.

    Odd.

I'd still take Jose Enrique of Liverpool over this Alba bloke.

Yea, to be fair, I turned the game on late and didn't check to look if Soldado scored any of the other ones. I assumed he came on later, I was watching the US v. Italy match.:eek:

lol, After the last goal he just scored, I just checked and realized he has a hat-trick. My bad for that one, but I'm very happy for our Cantera graduate. I hope he does well in the Euro's if he gets the final nod, and I hope Spain repeat.

So yea, I totally agree with what you said, Oscar. As the late Michael Jackson so eloquently put it, I was just being ignorant. :p

I didn't get to see the whole match, but based on what he's been saying in the media, it seems like this really means a lot to him. I hope he makes the position his own, as I think Torres is well past it, and Villa, while great, is a prick. Also, I always like to see our Cantera products blossom.

Do you (and Oscar) think if he has an outstanding Euro that there may be a way back for him wearing the Royal all-white?

I think it's more likely he'll be sold to an English or Italian team if he goes and does well in the Euro to be honest.

Anybody see the French match? It may have been only a friendly, but normally I wouldn't have given them a chance against the Germans in Germany. They seem to be on their way up if only looking at the scoreline, if they deserved the win it would surprise me even more.

I disagree. Jose Enrique is like Carlos Cuellar. Average Spanish player overhyped by the English media.

Boateng and Badstuber were a mess. Reus was a bit disappointing in his first start for Germany. The Germans were unlucky though, Klose had multiple great chances either saved by Lloris, or hitting the post. In general the Bayern players have shown Bayern form which is not good.

The french wanted it more. Not so sure about the German central defence in that combination. :/

Mesut was the best player on the pitch

Agreed, plus I thought Alba looked excellent today.

And about Germany, they would have been a much different team with Schweini, Lahm, and Neuer in there. I wouldn't read too much into the result of this match, for me they are still clearly one of the favorites for the Euros along with Spain and the Netherlands.

Loaning him out won't be a bad move, but don't we need him here more? When the league is officially won, he needs to start every game tbh, and we still have the next pre-season, so I don't know why we need to loan him out, especially that we are thin in the CM position when it comes to quality.
