Now that the preseason has begun, I figured this thread deserved existence. Early thoughts: My Rockets will be terrible. Awesome
Rockets beat the Thunder!......in preseason Unreasonably high expectations based on one meaningless game FTW! Terrence Jones = Nique
You think so? I think the Bulls will overperform without DRose, thanks to the return of Captain Kirk and Coach Thibs penchant for not allowing his players to use any excuses for their performance on the court. Of course, I don't have any expectations for the team challenging for a title like I did last year before Rose was hurt.
That, my friend, is a simple enough prediction. But can you go one step further? I'm gonna say Miami again.
I booted up my nba 2k13 game, and played both teams, and quite frankly there's a huge gap. Thanks NBA.
The both of them v.s everyone else. But as far as head to head, the Lakers in 2k13 seems to be head and shoulders above the rest. Cant double team Howard, and leave Nash, Kobe and Meeks open. At least with the Heat, when Lebron and Wade are in, you can sort of close down the paint and let them try and hit jumpers. As far the rest of the league. I know Philly lost Lou Williams, but they got Nick Young and Bynum in return [not directly]. If Bynum can stay healthy I think Phiilly can be a top 3 seed at the very least.
Yeah, agreed. Dont see how taht team is gonna work. Maybe Johnson is trade bait for a later move [or cap space]
The Rockets got James Harden? Holy balls! Rocks get: Harden, Daequan Cook, Cole Aldridge(Oh boy), and some guy named Lazar Hayward. OKC get: Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb, two future first rounders, and a second rounder. Rockets gave up a metric ton, but I like the trade altogether. Mostly because I'm glad to be rid of Martin, enjoy him Thunder, enjoy him. Edit: For the record, the picks we traded were the ones we got for the Lowry and Hill trades, not actually Rockets picks.
Great start for the Mavs! Beat the Lakers without Dirk and Kaman. The Lakers weren't at their best by a long shot, but then neither were we. Convincing win for Miami too.
what an awesome start. the fakers with all the hype around them losing to dallas mavericks out of all ( no nowitzki, and no kaman). Heat blowing out the celtics by 13 points, at one point we were winning by 19 point margin. Lebron played less then 30 minutes,I believe he had cramp and went to lockerroom.Rondo played 43 minutes, wile pierce played 40. Ray allen was magnificent, lewis did ok as well.We already look stronger then last year.
Lin-Harden could be a good backcourt in a couple of years. And the Rockets have money to spend in coming Summers.
Trying to figure out who my 5 league pass teams are this year, need some help. Here's the for sures: Rocks - My team MoHeatos(Because this could end up being an all time team) Then there's the group of good teams that will be on TV all the time: Lakers - The two greatest franchises in NBA history, both with very good teams. Celtics Thunder Spurs(That's local TV) Clippers Nets(maybe) Bulls - I guess they'll eventually be good, but who knows with Rose's injury I'd like one team from that group Then there's the group of entertaining teams that don't get much play nationally. Nuggets - Perhaps the only legit dark horse Timberwolves - White Power! Pacers - Could be a fifty win team that never gets on TV! Pistons - The Monroe/Drummond Spectacular! Hornets - Fear the Brow, and the chance to watch Austin Rivers be terrible. Jazz - A lot of watchable players Warriors - Very interesting on paper but are actually on TV quite a bit due to their local. I'd like two of those. Give me your opinions! If I missed somebody let me know.
Lakers/Thunder then Warriors/Twolves The first two for obvious reasons. The Warriors, as you say, look good on paper. Im also interested in the Mark Jackson experiment. With the Twolves, obviously the young core of Rubio, Love, Pekovic, Derrick Williams and then the potential return to form of Brandon Roy, thats an exciting prospect. Especially when you see the improvement from last year. Personally, I'd take these two, and forget teams from that first bracket. They'll most likely be on ABC basic cable later in the season, as well as ESPN [free online stream]. So you will still get a good dose of those guys.
Kyrie Irving has pretty much started off, where he finished last season. He will probably end up being an all star this year.
