Don't flatter us men. Many of us were replaced by batteries years ago.

You can always adapt and reinvent yourself. If you can't beat the robot (or the battery operated device) join it!

I almost feel pitty for this poor suckers...

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2014/04/03/2013-ceo-pay/7200481/

USA TODAY's analysis of Standard & Poor's 500 companies headed by the same CEO the past two fiscal years shows 2013 median pay — including salary, bonus, incentive awards, perks and gains from vested shares and exercised stock options — jumped 13% to $10.5 million, a level buoyed by soaring stock prices that's likely to rise as more companies meet annual Securities and Exchange Commission filing deadlines.

So the payment committees, (or whatever they're called), have ignored the fact the companies have to obey the law ANYWAY!

    WOW! Good thinking fellas :D

Board of Directors. Average salary for an outside director at a Fortune 500 company is $234,000 per Wiki, and duties average at 4.3 hours per week.

You can see why they might think that the CEO is a swell chum and worth every penny he is paid, because he makes such a good decision in hiring and paying them.

The little people are such chumps -- let's not ask for more than $7.50 per hour, that's too much! My boss couldn't afford that! Never mind, I'll work 60 hours per week instead. Hard work is the secret to getting rich, oh yeah that is the secret.

Well, yeah, the BOD, obviously, but I'm thinking of the remuneration committee for UK banking, specifically... just couldn't think of the name. :D

There was a study done over here a year or so back where it turned out that the bulk of the remuneration committee members are all on each others committee so, inevitably, (as you say), they all have a vested interest in saying that the multi-million pounds payments are fine and dandy. Even the BOD's and shareholders don't sometimes get a look-in because NOBODY wants to be the one to say 'Screw this' and the company ends up going tits up because they were a cheapskate on the bosses pay.

Large scale unemployment is the biggest single factor in driving down pay but also the destruction of the trade union movement, particularly over here. Faced with the alternative of being unemployed and on benefits, accepting low wages is the only rational choice.

Yup. Same over here. All of them are golf buddies and sign on each others raises knowing that they'll be rewarded.

From Krugman. While the poor whites vote against the poor blacks, and the middle class tries to stomp the poor of each color, and the comfortable try to distance themselves from the middle class, these people smile, rub their hands, and marvel at the stupidity of the 99.9% -

(Top 0.1% for income is $1.6 million and for wealth $20 million.)

So what 1% should I hate?

The real 1% of the world (people that make more than 32K)

The 1% Dpaip talks shit about.

Or the 1% of this 1%?

Can we just list names to make it easier?

    How about I start.

    The Waltons for sure.
    Buffet
    Gates
    To Make it international.
    Carlos Slim
The Royal Family of Saudi Arabia.
    Royal Family of Qatar.

Did I write hate? I think not.

Which 1% is making a killing and purchasing politicians like Paul Ryan to dramatically lower their taxes, so that they can retain even more of their assets and so that everybody else can have less?

Well I even posted that too, didn't I?

Well that is what I asked.

The evil 1% thing can get confusing.

Is the line people making over 32K.

The people making over 400K? (American 1%)

Or the Billionaires around the world, aka (the .0001%)?

My Pitchfork wants to know whose blood it will taste.

Edit: Well unless the 1% we want to fvck up is the Global 1%, because then I would be fvcked since I would be in that 1%.

No please, stop with the evil. I didn't say evil. I didn't say hate. I didn't say jealousy. Those are your words, not mine. And they certainly do not describe my beliefs.

This is just a small sample:

The top 1% of the top 1%, so your pitchfork doesn't lose its sharp edges. We are talking about less than 1 million, maybe 100k people in the world that controls most of its assets and rules. As a matter of fact, if we just eat 10k of them they will be scared enough to share some of "their" wealth with us.

true and all, but even if we ate all of them and all their children it would only take a decade or so for another 1% of 1% to regenerate. that's just the way we are. best to just eat and bare, err... grin and eat... ummm... all this talk about cannibalism has made me peckish. well, there's not a lot to eat on a bill gates, and sam walton looks stringy, but carlos slim al pastor makes even my vegetarian mouth water.

How out of date is this chart? It has Gerald R. Ford on the BoD of CitiGroup. He died in 2006.

All that matters is that it's a nifty graphic and an opportunity to shit on the thread.

It probably should've been posted in the Obama failure thread. Ford was a pretty decent golfer.
