Nor against Japan in the third game which leaves us in big trouble to finish top 2. ;)

All we can hope is that we finish 3rd and then North Korea get kicked out of the Olympics becuase of their FIFA ban.

totally outplayed by Japan, lucky it was not a much higher score.

They've been discussing him (as one of the favourites among many) as potential USWNT Coach for about 6 weeks now on the USA Women forum

Pretty good tenure. Fantastic achievement to win the Asian Cup but I thought his selections at the World Cup were strange. Best of luck to him.

The key game is tomorrow's against Hong Kong !! We will need a better goal difference after two matches than the Chinese (who won their first game 6-0), so that when we meet China on Saturday a draw will get us through to the last round.

And it happened to script ! Two wins, with better GD than the Chinese, so a draw is enough to get into the final.
Thank you tom sermanni for all your hard work in moulding the Matilda's into a decent team.

Why can't the FFA get rid of Tom Sermanni? With him at the helm, the Matildas will continue to remain bridesmaids to China, Japan and North Korea. Awful effort in the final EAFF 2013 East Asian Cup preliminary match.

The Matildas always seem to lose to these teams every time. It's a broken record, and it's because of the coach. By this token, you are satisfied with the status quo. While that's your call, as someone who wants to see the Matildas progress and make it to the finals of a tournament like this, I can't be satisfied one bit with their 2-1 defeat to China PR.

.........Tom Sermanni has taken up the job as head coach of the US women's national team so you can calm down.

Also.....what makes you think they should be beating Japan, China & North Korea? All 3 have better teams and players than Australia in women's football and apparently Australia were unlucky against China (well SBS implied so somewhere). Losing to a team like China is no disgrace.

Also if I'm not wrong, Sermanni's time in charge has been the best in the Matildas history.
