And about time. Anyways, now that he's back, and this thread's curse has come and gone with it's creation, it can be put to use
Hopefully he is fit and raring to go for the new season. We will need him. He was playing well, and I think having him also improved the play of Gerrard. I remember when people were very critical of Lucas. I was myself. It's good to see where he has come, and hopefully he keeps getting better.
I'll say this about Lucas. If he gets back to the level he was at when he got hurt, Barca, Real Madrid, Inter, AC Milan, Juventus, Man City, and Chelsea are all gonna come calling at the end of the season with 20 million + bids and insane wages we can't match. Solution: we need to be able to offer him CL football.
Lucas is like a little mix of Mascherano and Xabi Alonso. Great tackler with passing abilities. We need a back up DM just in case he gets injured again. It wasn't pretty last season without him.
BR with some nice things to say about Lucas. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1125611/lucas-leiva-poised-for-liverpool-return?cc=5901
Heh it was Lucas, Agger or Suarez for me and I figured the latter two have a greater chance of moving soon. That and I would feel alright with a Lucas shirt in two or three seasons
I got a Lucas kit the minute FSG bought the club. People gave me a lot of shit for it. You bought a Lucas jersey?!? No one's laughing anymore.
Lucas was an absolute boss the other night vs Gomel, just like old times. Just throwing that out there. I will also refrain from making any new player threads
I was thinking back to how horrible he was when he first came in. Then he got his haircut and it wasn't only his hairstyle that changed. Bad ------Vs-------Good ..
Just feel terrible for the lad, out again, it just seems like he can't catch a break at all. Out for another two to three months now.
Rushed back too soon? Earlier reports had him back in action Sept the earliest. Guess we were all too optimistic about his return to full fitness. Let's not rush it this time.
The killer is that apparently he felt it in warmups but still wanted to tough through it. I don't know if he told anyone about it - but if he did and they said play - then shame on us big time.
Rodgers is describing it as an unusual injury at the "top of the femur" and might require surgery. Wonder if it's a detached / partially detached muscle. A friend had that - takes a while to come back from it for sure.
