Um, not to be picky, but maybe we should change the wording of this thread. "RSL: Young South American Forwards" has a kind of creepy porno vibe to it.
This whole 8-10 days till we sign a new striker shit is reminding me of how I felt when I was 6 years old and my mom told me: "sorry georg their is really no tooth fairy".
Just a rumor (consider source) but maybe Andrés Fabricio Romero (striker/Arg/23) is going to Montreal... why not RSL? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrés_Fabricio_Romero https://twitter.com/MLSTransfers/status/299386828925042688
Whhhaaaaatttt??? Thanks for ruining it for me. You really should've put a spoiler alert at the beginning of your post.
Lets not even start talking about the Easter Bunny! Unless of course that is now the new announcement date.
Because he's not Colombian. I have no idea who the RSL striker-to-be is, but I'm virtually certain he's a Colombiano.
Does he have to be Colombian? Is that a known fact? Besides the Argentine I mentioned was signed by Montreal today, so oh well.
Funny but I was told the same thing! It will be a Columbian Striker, but we were also told about 5 weeks ago that the announcement would be in 8-10 days. I don't think things are going according to plan anymore. I am becoming less and less willing to believe a Columbian Striker is eminent.
So we reset the 8-10 figure at 5:00pm today? Or are we still waiting for more transfer windows to open?
I understand that the lack of news is frustrating...it's frustrating to Garson as well (since they want to get the player integrated with the team as quickly as possible) but the signing is currently out of RSL's hands. Everything has been agreed upon but this is being held up by ITC and visa issues. Basically it's all being held up by a couple pieces of paper sitting in a much larger stack on the desk of some overworked guy in the federal INS office, and when he finishes his donut, he'll get around to it. Very frustrating for sure.
Without saying anything? He reported that the teams and player have agreed on terms, and are just waiting on some bureaucratic processes. That's a lot. At least, IMO.
Sounds like we need to ask ol' Uncle Dave for one more favor - drop by a D.C. office with a bucket of KFC, chat up someone about basketball and slip the paperwork to the top of the pile...
