Whether they want it to or not, the statements that have been made imply for trademark reasons that they must have a new crest as an MLS side.
It's nothing great so i would imagine they would. And with the Lion, you could do so much with that (i.e. lions flanking the crest/shield, a close up of the Lion's face, the 3 headed lion but more professional looking, the Lions full body ala the EPL logo)
I do, the current one sucks. Furthermore, I bought a jersey at a game and the crest came off after the first wash so better quality jerseys please!
owner will not change the logo just alter the present one "slightly" speaking of altering they need help (hopefully from Disney) to change the lion mascot look
I don't honestly qualify as a fan at this point. Just relocated down here in the last few months (but purchased season tix for 2014). Anyway, yeah change that paintshop logo. Just don't make it a lame run of the mill mls crest.
They'll keep the 3 lions I think, and the colors. Maybe just an update on the lions, I never liked them. Probably drop the star(s). Can you count championships you won in a lower division?

I'm a Sounders fan, but I do have a soccer-playing cousin down in the Orlando area (I used to live over in the TB area of the state, myself, back in 91-93. Not holding out hope for the Rowdies "promoting" to MLS). I like the colors. Very rich. The lions? I like them, but they seem very hand-drawn, and too intricate to replicate reliably (though I know they do). Simplify that aspect of the logo. I like the font, overall, but I don't care for the T connecting with the Y. This news story has been fun to watch. Looking forward to '15.

I'm not sure about all of those (wtf @ RSL missing a letter??), but some of those are rather cool (eg Seattle, DC, Portland, etc.)... it would be cool if MLS clubs had small minimalist logos like that as secondary logos that they could use on certain things... That's almost as embarrassingly terrible as the current crest. ALMOST.
The shadows are stupid, but aside from that... Good: Seattle, DC, Colorado, Toronto, NY, LA, Portland, Chicago, Chivas Could use some work: San Jose, Montreal, KC, Dallas, Houston, Philly, NE, Vancouver WTF: RSL, Columbus
I take it you had no opinion on the bottom right depiction of the league logo. I think it looks about the same.
I didn't even notice that was the MLS logo... why is the shoe pointed up instead of down, and why is the green grass on top and the blue sky on the bottom? I would give that a rating of "not good". I would love to see the league simplify the current MLS logo into something similar to this, though...
No, it's a fan cruft. And the lower right "extra" icon is the MLS logo. Everything is for current teams.
This one isn't bad. Saw it just now on one of those right-margin banner ads on Facebook. It was on a t-shirt. No idea where it comes from or who made it and what its availability is. But it is decent. Seems like it'd look pretty good on an MLS-grade OC team crest.
First of all Congrats to Orlando for getting a club. Cant wait to pull for them in MLS. I dont really care for the current logo, hopefully something totally different, but better. And wouldnt bother me if they dropped the red.
