You were in a band? cool. Now I'm curious about the Armadillo's name. Austin is a pretty cool town. The only city in Texas worth visiting imo. (waits for neg rep)

Well, yeah I guess, but other than the River walk there is not much there. Not for people from Cali.

The keep _____Wierd shirts are pretty weak i think, most of the people that wear them are the same mamones that wear Abercrombie,Hollister shirts and they think they are above everyone else.

Texas has alot of cool places-
Dallas-lots of stuff to do, great centro with lots of shops, but it also has its ghetto as parts, one day at night I had car problems and walked to a Texaco and like 5 morenos were just staring at me and I thought they were going to jump my ass.

SA-my favorite city in texas, riverwalk is nice, lots of females in there, great food(taco Cabana)the only downside is that everyone is in the Military it seems and its kinda annoying.

El Paso-shitehole looks like Juarez, great tacos thats about it.

Re: The "Keep Austin Weird" Thread

I have been living in Austin for the past 15 years, and visited every year before that (since I was a young boy). It may not be as big as Houston or Dallas -- thank god -- but it is an absolute oasis in this state.

We have great food (no offense Chuntaro, but Taco Cabana is on the low end of food around here). It took me a long time to come to terms with TexMex food, especially when it was the only option. But now we have an abundance of "interior" Mexican food.

We have a great music scene, nightlife, every kind of bar you want (I prefer the local dives), and fabulius restaurants.

The golf is great. The weather is great. The outdoor recreation is great. I'll be going out to lake travis for the 4th this weekend.

The best time of year is right around the corner: the fall. Football season is upon (shameless plug coming up). And tell me what other college football team broadcasts their games en espaƱol
    [IMG]

It'll be on FM this year, and on the web on the recuerdos station.

Unless Texas plays at 7:00 am, which is not likely, but considering how hot it is the first few games, it might not be such a bad idea.

Here are a few radio calls from last year

Steiner Ranch is one of those master planned communities that is between Lake Travis and Lake Austin. The terrain is nice, but it is a long way from downtown. A lot of Dellionaires live out there. I would consider living in Steiner if I didn't haver to commute more than 5-10 miles becasue the traffic during rush hour is horrible. There are no freeways over yonder yet.

Aver Ranch is nice. It has a great public golf course, and is decently located next to some of the new tollways that are being built. You can do worse than Avery Ranch.
