I don't think at this stage of his career he feels he wants to downsize as it were.

I think he feels he is owed another big club like a Milan, Real, Barca etc.

I doubt he will go to Bayern, the league is not strong enough or glamourous enough for him.

I'm sure job offers will come his way by the spring/summer next year - by then a lot of the CL games will have been played and the leagues will be decided.

However, if all the top club managers do stay put then he will either have to lower his sights as you suggest or remain out of work for longer.

    Guess it's his call.

Of course, if he ends up in a smaller club, that club should expect the stay to be brief as an offer from a big club would always be looming over him .
He would leave in a heart beat as he did with U. Leiria to join FC Porto; even though he had brought up U. Leiria to a contender place that season.

He just denied one of the most lucrative and attractive offers in football, you guys really think he did that to go to a smaller club than Chelsea? As Kevin McCalister would say, "IIIIII don't think so".

After reading the article on where he will end up next, seems bottom line all the people in the know in Italy, Spain and England think he will end up in either Italy or Spain but will not get a big job that will satisfy him until the summer.

He'll be bored out of his brain by then.

Well he doesn't have to worry about the Bayern job that has just gone to Klinsmann today so no German lessons.

Schuster looks rock solid in Madrid unless the team completely implodes and that doesn't look like happening.

For me there are only three BIG clubs of the stature he is interested in that could hire him next season.

    LIVERPOOL
    BARCA
    MILAN

Otherwise I'm at a loss where he can go unless he is prepared to lower his sights to a second tier club.

I think Valencia would be a good fit for him. He will turn them into contenders for the Spanish title on a regular basis. He will do for them what he did for Chelsea. I think he should take it.

I agree. JM would be a great manager for Valencia, and I'd prefer him there to lets say some scum side like Liverpool.

Hes only on loan. If Mourinho would take the helm at Valencia, I am positive he would recall Manuel Fernandes for the start of the next season. He would literally turn him into the new Makelele....literally.

Even if he does, I don't think he'll stay next season especially if Ancelotti is leaving Milan.

Hes definitly more talented offensively then Makelele ever was. Has a rocket of a shot with both feet, excellent creativity with the ball in relation to passing and dribbling. His defensive aspect of his game is what needs the most work...as well as his defensive positioning.
