I'm enthused by the story, which is a great cinderella story, but I'm realistic about his longterm success in the Association.

Good to see you're enthused. Most posters here in this thread are enthused about Jeremy Lin while being hopeful but also realistic of his long term success too. I suppose different people express their enthusiasm differently.

i realize u have good intentions but with all due respect, no one here really gives a shit if there is more discussion on lin over there than there is in this forum. They can claim him too for all i care. lin isnt gonna bring the traffic we like, only chinese soccer becoming respectable will.

another thing, what the fark is that shanghai guy's problem? Excuse my french. But this is a just a single solitary thread, its not like the main forum is lacking in soccer topics or evreyone is on the edge of their seats dying for more info on china soccer, or the whole forum is spammed with dozens of jlin topics which is preventing users from enjoying chinese soccer. Who really cares if it is in here or the nsr. FFS, If someone doesn't like it, dun bloody click on it then.

whats messed up though is where were all these people when he was struggling? so why fuss about it now? pure hipocracy which makes no sense.
just sit back and enjoy him play. reminds of the stupidity between blacks and asians over Tiger Woods after he'd won the masters for the 2nd time.

over here in Hawaii, everybody's talking about him not just the Chinese. everyones proud of him.

segei the korean mod, has closed all the threads regarding jeremy lin in the korea nsr section as he isnt korean. but it appears that the traffic in china nsr is too low for it to survive.

sorry teamdragon, i wanted to support your thread, but there are too many people who who oppose it. and honestly with good reason...

i will ask sergei who so far has directed all korean nsr traffic here to just reopen the thread in korea nsr.

Indeed, couldn't have said it any better. This is an inspiring story that will have far-reaching implications for a new generation of Chinese athletes, soccer minded ones included. One single thread about this in the main forum is not more than there should be that's for sure.

I understand where you're coming from, but I don't think bobjones was trolling. He thought there were nude pics in this thread and got frustrated about having to go through all messages just to find that one link. :D

I hear you. Even though some fail to see it, but this is a story that far transcends all pettiness.

True most of his fans are new fans but to be fair, a lot of people supported him when he was struggling, and I think a lot of his new fans would have supported him had they known about him but probably like me, most of these new fans hadn't watched a basketball game in full in a long time and were not very up to date with what's going on until Lin exploded into superstardom.
    1 people repped this.

fixed post. i hope the thread stays alive. i just hope the peops who dont like the "clutter" in the china section will be able to bear with our linsanity. soon you too will catch linitis and advocate the perpetuation of non football related topic here as a special exception.

Now that everybody has made their points, it's time to move on. But please keep all discussions here on topic. No threadjacking will be tolerated.

The Jeremy Lin Show continues tonight on MSG at 8 PM. Carmelo is said to be doubtful for active duty tonight. Not the most ideal of all situations, since next game is going to be a tough one, against Dallas on Sunday, it'd would've been nice to have Melo at tonight's relatively easy game against the Hornets to ease into the Lin flow. But then again, "doubtful" doesn't necessarily mean "absent for sure" so hopefully Melo can still play.

Tough 1st quarter. Felt like Lin was trying too hard to not take shots. The trying is taking him out of the groove.

I tend to think if something is working, don't fix it. But maybe he's decided it's a necessary transition he has to make. On that radio interview he was talking about not necessarily a good thing for the point guard ie himself to take too many shots.

He took 8 shots, Amare's the only one who took more than him...He's playing rattled, looks like he's forcing it, hopefully he'll find his confidence in the 2nd half.

He's doing too much figuring out and not enough attacking. The Knicks have been feeding off of the energy his attacking generates. With him flat, the whole team looked flat. Three Knicks fighting for a rebound among themselves and it went out of bound. Novak wide open shots wouldn't go in the basketball. That's the kind of things that happen when you play flat.

Slight setback for Lin and co. But at least the streak (and pressure of keeping it) ends with Lin still getting 26 points. Hopefully they rebound against the bigger challenge of the Mavs.

Seems like Lin came back down to earth this game, struggled with shooting and his turnovers are really becoming an issue. He improved somewhat in the second half, but he needs to stop trying to do too much.

I only watched the final 10 mins or so. Seems like the whole team had an off game, and give credit to Hornets, they played a pretty good game.

The Jeremly Lin Show, Stung by the Hornets, 85-89, Lin with 26 points, 5 assists, 2/17/2012
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQFNirprOVc&feature=related"]The Jeremy Lin Show vs Hornets: FULL Highlights 02.17.2012 - YouTube[/ame]

So the unthinkable has happened, Jeremly Lin's Knicks is capable of losing too, and even to a team like the Hornets whom they had beaten 6 times in a roll prior to this loss. What separates the stars from the rest is how they react after a bad loss and how his team rallies around him after the loss. From this video, it looks his teammates and coach are very supportive and doing all they could to make him the star. Lin, in my opinion, is being slightly a little too hard on himself.

i have full blown linmania, but nine turnovers are nineturnovers.

the whole team did poorly ,but when lin is in charge and he struggles, the team wasnt going anywhere despite catching up in the late fourth quarter.

    the team needs Melo.

knicks werent going to win every game, but the true test of their level comes when Melo comes back and they play a top flight team.

    lets see where this goes...
