Agger and Wilshere went into a 50/50 challenge. Agger got the ball, Wilshere didn't. Wilshere got injured and subbed off. Hope he's alright but still, luck was on our side with that one.
Which one would you rather have? I always thought Yarmolenko was the Ukrainian stud until we went all in for Konoplyanka in January.
So far all of our players are still in tact *knocks on wood*. I wouldn't mind France giving Sakho 30 minutes or so. He's gotta get himself eased back in anyway.
Can Rooney, on his day, be the most influential player for England? Yes. That being said, on current form, the team would more closely resemble our style of play if the Ox was playing instead of him. A front six of 'pool and l'arse.
I agree. Us had a rough start but picked up their play. When the second goal was scored I thought the US was the better team up to that point. I didn't see the England game but Sterling was the highest rated player even though it was Sturridge who scored. Did he impress those of you who watched?
Let's just say Woy would be a fool not to have him on the plane to Brazil. Then again, Woy would be a fool regardless.
Sterling was the only England player who played well the whole time. Other than Lallana actually, although he only played about 35-40 mins. Sturridge was ineffective until Rooney (who was terrible) was subbed off and as a result got to play centrally. Gerrard and Hendo were good in the first half, shaky in the 2nd. Johnson was the only starting defender who had at least a decent match.
Five Liverpool players on our half of the pitch. One of the most exciting, highest scoring, super fast, striking teams in the BPL. And Woy still turns it this team into a bore. Sterling was the stand out, the Studge gets the goal and a simple one it was in the end. Gerrard and Johno had good games and Hendo was Hendo...!!! The comms had comments on Wilshere's indifferent play, long before he was hurt. All through the first half I was wondering who this guy reminded me of...... And then it came to me.....
Funny, Suarez' name came up in more than one international match yesterday. Victor Moses looked like he was going to do well, playing his usual game. Running until he actually ran into a couple of defenders.....
This was class from Neymar & Brazil, and a great PR move ahead of the World Cup. Neymar stops officials from turning away a kid who ran onto the pitch towards the Brazilian team. http://metro.co.uk/2014/03/06/neymar-comes-to-the-rescue-of-the-cutest-pitch-invader-ever-4438598/
I wouldn't mind a 3-0 England win. Suarez means nothing to me in the light blue (actually I'll be secretly rooting for him after Woy gets us eliminated/Iran gets embarrassed)
England's press and media (and head coaches) never ceases to amaze me. Adam Lallana has played much better than Jack Wilshere in the league (has the same petulant attitude, though) and certainly against Denmark, yet there is all angst and tales of gloom about the latter's injury (stupid tackle, too). And if it weren't for that stupid petition (?), Tom Cleverley would have made a start, too. I hope-- against hope, I s'pose-- Hodgson defies history and does not put all his plans and hope (and that of the entire team) on one injured player but rather on players in form. Not only that but plays players in their most effective positions for despite what has been said about England actually has the players to go far.
Another international tournament is in the works for Europe. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26747394
