you read the article and see that they're doing everything right, I read the article and see that they're on high notice that his fitness is always an issue and a question, and had a higher duty to act and take every preventative measure to ensure an injury did not occur. Playing Gerrard when we were up 3-0, or 3-1, is not adequate nor reasonable action when taken in face of this notice of a higher duty to act
Actually my opinion was formed on watching Gerrard be consistently fitter than he was in his twenties or as a teenager, had nothing to do with the interview.
Blame blame blame. He's injured. It happens. I just hope they don't "Rafa" him back to fitness. Next few games are going to be key to our, but to be honest it might be nice having a more energized and disciplined midfield (i.e. Gerrard-less) if we're to weather the next few weeks. We just can't afford another injury. Gerrard's been at his best in his years this season, but he's still capable of disappearing or easing up in matches. An anxious midfielder hoping to seize an opportunity might be nice against Man City and Chelsea. *Before I get torn to pieces, I'm not saying we're better off without our captain. Just hoping to find some positive to take away from the situation.

We're really going to miss Stevie's set piece delivery, which has been amazing this year. If there's a silver lining it's that we get to see how Allen responds, given that he will get an extended run in the first team w/ the captain out. Coutinho will have to grab the creative reins, because there's not another player in the squad with Gerrard's ability to make the incisive pass and Henderson will have to prove that he's more than just a workhorse. If our backline juggling continues and Agger doesn't play, who gets the arm band? Skrtel? Kolo? Lucas? Henderson? Those seem the most likely, but I'd actually prefer we give it to Suarez.
No, no, no EVERYBODY gets a captain's armband while SG's out. Everybody is important and should feel wonderful and fulfilled all the time.
it would be very good if Gerrard and Hendo are fully fit. But I really dont want to rush them back in. Hendo looked like he needed some rest or maybe even have something looked at. (Praying for the first)
In which case, I think there is a case for starting Luis Alberto. Why ever did we pay money for him if not for exactly this period?
Agreed. I could see BR putting him on the bench and Aspas in the starting lineup though. He has been favoring him lately.
Sturridge seems to be ahead of schedule from reading the tea leaves from Rodgers's press conference and may be in the frame for the away match at Stoke.

Call me a homer but I think Sturridge being in the lineup is the difference between us having the 4th best team in England and having the 2nd best team (Behind City). I'm really excited for him to come back, as his return is better than any signing we can possibly make. If he and Suarez can stay healthy and play out the rest of the season together, I think we can finish as high as second.
