My guess is gym memberships are expensive. Any chance I can get Michelle Obama to pay for my Y membership? LETS MOVE!
There's a Planet Fitness less than a half mile from my house. I could join it for $10 and $10 per month. That's really not all that expensive.
In case you're wondering why people mock you for resorting to talking points... At least pick a one that hasn't passed it's expiration date.
what a dippy answer. it's not hurt feelings. it's a matter of personal conviction which is different from legal correctness.
You have a clear right to express your personal convictions in your own economic life. You do not have any right to express your personal convictions in your employees' economic life-- not even if you have a personal conviction that you do.
what if Hobby Lobby had all their employees sign a waiver ( what the correct term would be, idk ) indicating that they would never opt to use Ella or IUD or Plan-B. would that obviate participating in some neo-fascist health care option???
They are doing no such thing. Employees are free to eat morning after pills every day before coming to work at the Hobby Lobby. Meanwhile the company will provide them with high quality healthcare.
ec·o·nom·ic [ek-uh-nom-ik, ee-kuh-] adjective 4.involving or pertaining to one's personal resources of money: to give up a large house for economic reasons. *Kathleen Turner voice--"You're not too smart, are you? I like that in a man."*
Ortho-lo around here is around $20/mo when purchased in bulk (about 1yr) through Planned Parenthood. Probably closer to $30/mo without a special. We don't qualify for lower rates because we make too much money for subsidies. Through my wife's super-fancy multi-national-corporation health insurance 7 years ago, it was $55/mo on top of a specialist visit (more $$$) to get the prescription for the more expensive pills (no difference in quality). We decided to go for the IUD, foregoing ridiculous and unpleasant gyno visits for my wife (who was in her early 20's), until she finished her doctorate and we could then decide to have a family via pregnancy or adoption, or not at all. It paid for itself after 3 years. The first few years we were married, I learned way more than I ever wanted to learn about women's health and healthcare. I love my simple stupid penis, that's for sure.
The dire picture you paint is not a great outcome, but still far preferable to any corporation being able to opt out of any law they choose on the basis of some sort of "religious" belief held by owners of the corporation. That is what HL is asking for and, from I've read, that is the shit sandwich the supreme court is about to serve up. Corporations will have all the rights of individuals, but none of the responsibilities. Thanks, Nino!
The difference between you and me, I think, is that the phrase above makes literally no sense to me. It's like talking about human gill replacement surgery. You, OTOH, think the phrase makes sense.
That's not it. I think that trying to broach the topic of women's health to a bunch of men (is she the only female that has posted here? if not, how many posts in nearly 100 are from females?) in the way @Barbara wants it done is counterproductive. You have to speak to your audience.
