Paulinho have always scored reasonable amount of goals in his career, entirely spent in little clubs, getting relegated a couple of times.Maybe he could turn out useful for the next J2 promotion campaign...:(
    Rafinha never impressed me.
When he was at Thespa he wasn't a prolific scorer even for J2 standards,at Gamba he started with a bang but that team was running like a bullet train: look at the scoring average of guys like Hirai or Kawanishi to understand how easy was to score for our forwards. In the last 2 crucial months, when the core team started to get fatigued and we lose key points in the title race, the guy started to show his poor consistency, missing easy goals and playing very badly, selfishly.

And in the first half of 2011, Adriano was the top scorer even if he missed one or two sitters every game.

Beautiful Yasuhito Endo freekick. Trademark stuff. Nice goals by Paulihno, Kurata, and Takei as well.

    Yeah!
Good game, but the tough part starts now : we have to build upon this victory.
Now we have Reysol,FCT and Marinos, not easy tasks.

Endo showing great leadership and a good condition: this will be crucial to save us this year.

In another thread Weka asked this
So,since this question popped up quite frequently since this winter,i think the matter should be explained a little.
Let me start with a little bit of history: Nishino came to Gamba in 2002 to bring some glory to a solid but largely unsuccesful J1 club. It took him 4 year to bring the title to Suita in that legendary 2005 season. Then Gamba went through a first generational turnover and had to wait until 2007 Nabisco cup and the 2008 triumph in ACL and Emperor's Cup.
During all those years since 2005 Gamba always occupied the first places of the table (except for the 2008 season when the duties of the ACL took a heavy toll) playing the trademark offensive football, scoring lots of goals, but always losing in a way or another crucial points to clinch another J.League title to more "cynical" opponents year after year. Many that now are praising Nishino as the prophet of good football back then were dismissing him for not being a smart tactician like the obnoxious Oswaldo Oliveira.
Nishino and the club went through this era with a practical strategy: a core of talented and committed players (Endo,Futagawa,Yamaguchi,Myojin,Fujigaya,Hashimoto,Kaji...) and a rotation of star forwards, usually brazilians, that went on sale to the arab markets after a year or two of prolific goal-scoring (the likes of Araujo,Magno Alves,Bare..)
In 2010 cracks began to appear in this strategy:the strikers for that year were supposed to be the promising Pedro Junior from Albirex,Lucas Severino and Cho-jae Jin.
Pedro Junior never convinced and after being subbed against Albirex insulted Nishino right on the pitch in a horrid altercation and flew to Brazil; The enigmatic Cho-jae Jin spent almost the entire season injured and never managed to score a goal, while Lucas as good as it is can't be considered a goalscorer. So after taking the piss in the first half of the season, with ACL travels, injuries, fatigued players,Fujigaya doing mistakes, the team bounced back with pride ,thanks to the boom of youngsters Usami and Hirai,to a 2nd place. Then last year:We started very good, suffered a downturn in form in late spring that costed the elimination from ACL from the hands of Cerezo (sigh),made a strong comeback, but lose here and there those easy points that could have won us the title. In late november it became evident that the club wasn't going to renew the contract of Nishino. At first it wasn't clear if it was the manager's desire to step down after gaving all to the club, and take a sabbatical. Then was declared that the club was having new ideas for his future: a new manager and a rejuvenation of the team...
Something very sad and touching for any Gamba fan,but also something that was in the air from 2010. It was a suffered moment, but, somehow,a natural and reasonable one.
Then those reasonable ideas in the minds of the management guys materialised...with the arrive of the odd couple Wagner Lopes-Serrao;the departure of Yamaguchi,Hashimoto and Takagi from the old guard;the terrible loss of Lee Keun Oh and the promising Kim Seung Yong;the signings of Paulinho,Lee Seung Yeoul,Eduardo; Rafinha from Kusatsu to stardom;we take too many goals so let's buy Konno and fix it...

It just keeps getting worse and worse right...?

This is not a hole they are in, but a god damn Mariana Trench. Even when there is a spark of life, some Kami comes down to smack them back to the ground

    I dont think it will

Cerezo are without the midfield duo, so I kind of expect a draw or win for Gamba

Here's hoping for a Gamba win on Saturday and hopefully sneak away from relegation.

If Gamba will avoid relegation, would someone please make a compilation of Fujigawa mistakes? Really, i'm a Sampdoria fan and i remember how Curci made his part in our relegation. But this guy is above all the bad GK.

Seriously I am an Antlers fan so in a way I am ok with this, we need every point we can get as well.
But seriously. What mistakes by Fujigawa far worst GK in J1 atm. It is obvious his confidence has hit the floor and he is like a fish on land...

He spills the ball a lot, that's what.

But I still can't help but love the guy.
