Manabu Watanabe (Mito) and Yasunobu Matsuoka (former Roasso and Nagasaki) also turned semi-pro, although neither of them can be said to have had any great success.

Fujigaya is gone. Sad day for all Gamba-fans.

It definitely is. Like him or not, 9 years at the same club is impressive.

Yeah, it seems there are mixed feelings though. In one way they will miss him, since he's a symbol of Gamba and part of their "family", but in another way they realize that they need a better goalkeeper anyway if they want to challenge for any silverware next season.

    "All things must pass
    All things must pass away..."

I personally don't agree with many of the very harsh criticism i read around about Fujigaya.
There were bad days, good days, average days, horrible days...in the end he won everything during his tenure with the club, not many other player could say that looking back at their career.
In 2012 he had with no doubts the worst season in his career, and ended up as a scapegoat for much of the troubles and errors that were made.
This year he gave a solid contribute overall to the J2 winning campaign, with some brownouts here and there, which were,as usual, much more emphasized than the strings of good performances he had over the course of the season.
He was a kind of tragic character all the way...
He wasn't the best GK around for sure, neither the laughing stock he's been made many times.
Now right time to move on for Gamba and for him, with no regrets.

Club won't renew his contract. Don't think he's retiring,he'll go somewhere else.

With the signing of Yonekura now official we have 2 of the best 3 assist-man of J2 2013.
Like i said he's a very offensive minded left-back,even played some games as winger or forward back in his career.
Very good quality crosser, defense maybe will be his low-point but he will be a very interesting addition in a role where Kaji has past his prime.

    Isn't Fujiharu already a left-back?

One of these days someone on this board will care about translating or summing up stuff when linking articles in Japanese.
It would be like me linking articles in Slovenian saying that it explains Novakovič thoughts about his situation in J-League or something...

Huh? naopon pretty much always does an excellent job translating the articles he posts. I can't recall any examples but I'm sure he posted several interviews in the Japanese Abroad section, complete of translations... if there is someone to complain about, that's surely not him! ;)

Yeah you are right. Just speaking in general loads of stuff posted without any explanation and than I literally spend 1hour translating stuff with my knowledge.
Which is in a way ok since it helps me learn, but still frustrating since I can decide to do it anyway and sometimes I really dont feel like it and would just like to know whats it about without putting too much effort.

    Hope that makes sense

Some goals from the newest Brazilian striker to arrive in Gamba

It's funny that he was not a famous player but had his best season in 2013 and became a meme with a lot of nicknames like Linswandowski, "All-Seeing Eye", "Prince of Peace", "Bread of Life", "The Divine Son", "Bruce Lins" etc. He was really loved by Criciúma supporters.

Yeah sometimes I'm too lazy to post translations sorry. I consider myself to be blazing fast at translating Japanese -> English but still it takes time. Better than nothing right? Even Slovenian articles are definitely welcome.

I don't know man, doesn't seem to be so true to me. Sometimes we post stuff in japanese with almost no info, but it means that it's just not so important stuff. And, well, I don't think the "better to not even post it" would be a better approach no?
The problem is that it really takes a lot of time. You would never see me do it with an article in italian or spanish.
Naopon is 200 times faster (and better) than me, which is why I've barely translated 3 or 4 articles in full and it took 1 hour per article, and nobody is paying me to do it. Let alone that I can make mistakes...
I generally post a quick sum up though of course.
Just remember people are putting time into it for free...

    lol
    I guess it's a fake anyway..... right?

Well you can still say something like:

Idk Nagatomo speaking about his love for the club saying he is enjoying every moment in Italy. Or some summary like that
