Shouldn't this be the sixth video game thread?

As crazy as it sounds... my wife really enjoyed watching me play it. The commercial wasn't that far off.

No this is not the sequel.

Did anyone's PS3 die yesterday due to the internal clock error?

It didn't die, but it freaked me out when all my save games were 12/31/9999 or something like that... Reset the clock and now everything is all better.

    From a purely neutral perspective...

You do realize that God of War 3 will annihilate anything ever produced for the xbox 360 right?

My buddy was over this weekend (he's an XBox'er) and was completely blown away by the GOW III demo. It really seems well put together, although I'm still not a fan of the lack of camera control.

I'm just a few levels away from beating Uncharted 2 on Crushing, and BBC2 is being shipped out today, so it should be a smooth transition... :)

I was just messin, but I beat God of War 2 in one weekend, on the highest difficulty. Without the aid of caffeine. Not impressed in general with the series. I really don't understand the hype. I'll take a look at some trailers ... maybe.

What makes God of War better than Conan or Prince of Persia AC?

They all look the same to me, with that fighting mode where you press corresponding buttons and they do the dramatic attack moves etc.

Anyone bought it yet? It comes out here on Friday but I will not be able to play it until Sunday night at the earliest.

You have to be at a certain point in your evolution as a being to understand the epicness of the God of War series. Either you get it or you don't.

They're all in the same genre for sure, so I guess it really comes down to storylines. I've always been a fan of mythology, (when I was little, I loved Clash of the Titans), so to have a game that models a mortal/god taking on Olympus, it appeals to me.

Of course there's always the gameplay. Although there's always normal and strong attacks, blocking, etc, it's the flow of the game, with different bosses and puzzles that separate these games from one another. I don't know about Conan, but PoP was neat because of the "rewind" capability.

So is there any particular reason I can't play a fricking multiplayer game in bad company? Every time I try it says no match found. WTF???

So I wasn't a huge fan of MW2 to begin with, but it did take my interest for awhile. It is not a bad game. Like every game there are weaknesses and strengths. The biggest issue is balance, or lack thereof. The advantages gained by camping or sniping or both are great. Things like lightweight + marathon + tactical knife make a mockery of what a shooter should be.

Bad Company 2 has its weakneses too - namely the power of sniper rifles on hardcore.

However, there are just so many ways this game is special. Camp at your peril. 12x scopes, helicopters, UAVs, destructible buildings, tanks etc. If you don't keep it moving someone, even if they can't hit you, can point you out to teammates.

The maps are wide open. Objectives aren't always squished up against one side, helicopters can assault drop troops behind enemy lines. A vareity of vehicles, distances in spawn points and different ways to achieve objectives allows for gameplay that is unpredictable and balanced.

They've kept a lot of things that made BadCompany great. One of the additions, Squad Rush - allows for 4 on 4 action that provides the most tactical gameplay I've seen online.

Lots of games have excitement and require skill but very very few games reward communication and strategy quite as well as Bad Company 2 does.

    Is it worth getting a PS3 if I already have a 360?

Thinking of getting one with Play TV (it gives the PS3 HD-PVR ability ala tivo) for basic usage.

I'd say yes, for a PS3. I use it as a BluRay player and I tend to now get all Multiplatform non-Online games on PS3. (FFXIII & Assassin's Creed II)

As well as 1080P Netflix streaming, but this PS3-PVR does intrigue me, as I have 250GB version.

Also, the next update for the long time PS3 owner/user, will remove the ability to install Linux on your PS3. (3.21)

Thanks for your reply, sadly the Play TV adapter isnt available for the US, only works in Australia and UK randomly enough. To do with the type of Broadcast we have on free to air

They're fun for busrides and train trips and wasting time like that (Same to DS, I own both). PSP was good when in Europe for using the internet on public wifi, but too many of the games arent worth buying.

My Suggestion, get one with Hacked Firmware and download the games for it:rolleyes:

I stopped buying games, and downloaded movies and music onto my memory card. Its bigger than an ipod touch screen, just not as much memory.

Super Street Fighter IV comes out Tuesday at $40, less if you still have SFIV around to trade-in.

FIFA World Cup 2010 comes out as well, it actually makes sense to buy the World Cup games (only) if you DIDN'T buy FIFA 2006, 07, 08, 09, or 10. Which I am but I don't want to pay $60.

Halo Reach Beta starts First Monday in May.
    1 people repped this.

in related news, when I have an M95 in my hands on Valpraiso in BFBC2, I am invisible and dangerous. I went 25/3, 22/2 and 19/1 yesterday/this morning.

Yeah, and that is without the aid of any damned carepackages.
