2-1 defeat to the Kashima Antlers. Not happy about it, but what can you do? Sigh...

Been a tough season so far but FC Tokyo beat Brisbane 4-2 to make it to the round of 16 in ACL play.

Well, to review, I think FC Tokyo are going to stay up in the J.League 1, but we will end the season without a single trophy. Now I don't know how many years Ranko has on his contract, but I personally have fallen out of favor with him. It's up to the FCT top brass to decided what to do with him, but to me, he's underimpressed as the first team boss.

So the team keeps Ranko as manager despite FC Tokyo not winning anything last season. So far it has seemed to work. Unbeaten through two rounds.

FC Tokyo with their first defeat of the season, 1-0 to Cerezo Osaka, but mostly of their own undoing. Own goal, combined with diabolical attacking, an onside goal called offside and a little referee bias.

I thought Yamaguchi scored for Cerezo. How did Cerezo in generally do as a team and regarding individuals?

They were on the same boat as FC Tokyo in terms of efficiency, but just a little bit better. They also broke up a lot of possession and benefited from FCT's bad finishing. Refs helped them out too. Take out the refs, and this was a pretty even game.

Hope so. Popovic needs to get it done and win something, or he is gone.

Absolutely dreadful defending from FCT tonight. Ranko's got some explaining to do, dropping two on the trot like this.

Three straight defeats on the trot for FC Tokyo. You have to wonder if the Board is going to have any remaining patience with Ranko after this.

At some point, one has to believe that enough is enough down over at FC Tokyo.

Apparently this FC Tokyo team considers consistency to be an overrated intangible. Really perilous thinking if you ask me.

Once again, FC Tokyo gives consistency the old heave ho in favor of finding creative ways to drop games. So awesome at taking defeat from the jaws of victory. Well done you lot.

Yeah must be said, you had that one in the bag and you totally let go off it in the second half.
