Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Wow. That field is the exact same type of turf my parents had on their back porch in 1985.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones I didn't see this anywhere, but this is from yesterday's Rumblings: "It was a huge story in Guatemala when former Crew forward Jeff Cunningham joined the Guatemala City-based CSD Comunicaciones team this week. Cunningham, whose option wasn’t picked up by Columbus after last season, was described by the team’s general manager as 'by far the best player to come to Guatemala in 10 years.' 'When he arrived, he was overwhelmed by the media presence at the airport,' GM Roberto Alfaro told MLSsoccer.com. 'He was kind enough to talk to each and every one of them. 'It took him almost an hour-and-a-half to do the interviews.' Cunningham, 35, is the career scoring leader in Major League Soccer history. Comunicaciones has won two of the past three championships in Guatemala and is considered one of the country’s top clubs, alongside Municipal."
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones puttputt, don't you get it? Even if you are a Crew fan and you enjoyed watching Robbie Rogers, or Andres Mendoza, or Brian McBride, or even Paul Caligiuri your desire to follow YOUR favorites doesn't matter on this particular BigSoccer MLS Team board. Perhaps the worst moderated board on this very popular site. Clearly you don't understand the serious nature of casual fandom, and the repercussions of using a few minutes of your free time to enjoy a little banter about the beautiful game. Clearly you don't get it. Cheers!
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Because certain mods can discern between great (Jeff) and mediocre (Robbie) soccer players. Cheers!
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Actually, it's more because we don't like YOU. Since like three people wouldn't shut the eff up about Robbie, ever ever ever ever, he got way, way more discussion than he ever truly merited around here. So we got sick of talking about him. You can thank yourself for that.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones EXACTLY! Robbie timeline: Robbie had one good year. This was back in 2008. The trumpeting of him as the second coming got to be old. This was back in 2010. Missionary still doesn't understand it. This is in 2012.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Crew never got the Cup with Jeff. Lets not forget that my friend.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Crew never got the cup with Brian McBride, Brian Maisonneuve, Brian West, or a whole bunch of other Brians either. Doesn't mean they're not better players. With MLS Cup: Robbie Rogers, Cory Elenio, Kevin Burns. Without: Brian McBride, Jon Busch, Stern John. Do you really want to play this game? Once again, I say: Shut up.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Bolded part remains to be seen. As for the reception, over there they do that with most foreigners of any significance. They cherish them from before they arrive.
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Sorry to open a can of worms. Asking because I like RR. I like USMNT. Unless your screen name is Thoma or Eggy, you probably have not heard my drunken ramblings about time spent at Elland Road, Read number three over and over. To quote Sam the Eagle,"You are all weirdos."
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones No, see.... Robbie made Guillermo great... No Robbie, no great plays from Guillermo, no MLS Cup. (man I can't even keep a straight face typing that...) Seriously, "Robbie greater than Jeff because of shiny Cup that the entire team won." Wow, that's going into the book of arguments right next to "I know you are but what am I?"...
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Since, as Missionary will attest, Nordecke was created by Robbie to sing his praise, my advice to you comes in Nordecke's native tongue; Sprechen Sie mit der Wand, es wird Sie schneller verstehen als Missionar!
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones No arguments there, but is it maybe time to remove 'rumor' from the main thread title, HHM?
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones Though I'm not crazy about the idea because I really don't want to read what colour Robbie's bowel movements have been now that he's eating haggis, should we just change the name to "Former Crew Players Around The World"?
Re: Jeff Cunningham to Comunicaciones I've had the same thought, and great minds tend to think alike, so... maybe "The Ex-Files" Or, "Have Crew, Will Travel" Something.
