Thought you'd be at the US Grand Prix in TX. Looks a cracking race, too, with Hamilton and Vettel exchanging leads. Tight as the proverbial ... of a gnat.

... and Hamilton goes past Vettel to win. Great race and a wonderful circuit in Austin. Well done, to the US motor sport federation.

Good venue, good race to watch and a very good result.

I like Button, for a seemingly quiet spoken Engerlish chap he doesn't let the likes of Schumacher bully him. He held Schumacher off on turn one when Schumacher tried to take him off, then as he passed he took Schumacher the full width of the track forcing Schumacher to fall behind..

Schumacher's gotten away with being the track bully for too long.

Have to say that I was concerned about how this race might come off (or even IF it might come off) what with some of the financial issues the organizers were having in the lead up to it. But wow, what a beautiful track, and it looks like several good corners for overtaking. I think that first corner with the incline and the extra track space allowing room for multiple lines for passing is going to make that track an exciting highlight for many future seasons. I'll definitely be thinking of trying to attend in person one of these upcoming years...

Man it's been an autumn of hiring! You'd fit it, Liverpool is the only jersey allowed in the office. That and we always stop working to watch the match.

I've driven down the M62. I never noticed this though. :)

The road was diverted around Stott Hall Farm because they wouldn't sell up.

Sounded like a great idea then but the property has lost value so much that they can't sell it.

If a lager needs a wedge of fruit in it to make it tolerable then drink something else.

I'm a bit of a beer snob and Corona is awful. :) I gave up the adjunct lagers a long time ago. Now you'll find me drinking Russian Imperial stouts, double IPAs (one of the local breweries here in CT makes a world class one) marzen Octoberfest style lagers, etc. I have no problem dropping $15 for a four pack if it's a well made beer.

Oh, I agree. I like pale ales, too, and Oxford has a large number of local products which I have sampled during extended breaks from work. My favourite drink is Guinness, though, especially the export stuff from West Africa. Sadly these days I drink less owing to how long it takes to recover from a hangover. Age does that, I reckon.

Guinness is my go to at the pub for matches. I get one a few minutes before the match and a second before half time. One hardly need eat after two pints of Guinness.

A McLaren 1-2 on the front row, rain is forecast, Alonso is expecting "strange circumstances" and he is besides Vettel on the grid.

    A cracker-jack of a race in store.

I used to drive past that on the way to work every day when I worked in Leeds and lived in Manchester. Always made me smile, they have a little bridge that goes under the motorway. Almost everyday I would say to myself, 'One day I will stop in there and ask them if it was worth it, not selling'. I never did.

With that bar bill, he can't afford a hair cut or shave. Let alone another pair of cords.

Guilty as charged! Or, at RFK, the $8 domestic cup of MODELO ESPECIAL!?

And, yes, that tab is going to ruin his children's college fund. :D
