Well then what's stopping you? It'll be a good game to go to, fun night and on top of that good seats in the main stand. Flights are cheap in February and hotels are from about $100 per night. No reason not to.....
Sepp Blatter showing his ignorance: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...ides-mls-as-'struggling'-to-take-hold?cc=5901 While MLS isn't as popular as the NFL or MLB, we've surpassed the NHL, which has had 1 shortened season and 2 canceled seasons during MLS' lifetime. And yes, while I agree that we should move to a more international calendar, to criticise us is a bit off base, seeing as there are several European leagues that don't follow the 'typical' calendar. I'd like to see us go to a Russian type calendar, with an August-December portion, January and February off to allow the northern teams to not be dealing with potential nasty weather, and then mid-March-mid-June to finish out the season. While I'm also thinking about it, with all the expansion of MLS, it really needs to go to a single league format with no playoffs.
I agree with the schedule, but I don't want to see a single table. I think it would lower the quality of play due to extraneous travel, and you wouldn't see regional rivalry games as much - which are the best things about MLS to me.
The only reason to go to the European schedule is to make it easier for Sepp and FiFa to use players in more internationals. Simply greed on his part.
Reading this today, LBdottir gave it to me for Xmas Really interesting light reading It's musings, jokes, stories and what ever else came to mind. "It was Christmas time, and the lady answered the door. It was the mailman. She said, "Come in I have something for you". She took him into the bedroom and screwed his brains out, then fixed him a big breakfast of biscuits, gravy, ham, and eggs. Then she walked him to the door and gave him a dollar. The mailman said, " Lady what just happened?" She said, "I asked my husband what to give you for Christmas, and he said '******** him, give him a dollar'. Breakfast was my idea."
Nice gift. I was working on the guitar with one of my favs of his the other day. "You were always on my Mind"
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard on Luis Suarez, "He has been brilliant for us ever since he came to the club, week in, week out he is showing what a top player he is." "These players have only got to play against him twice a year, we've got to train with him every day.. he is a magician!"
It would just be me most likely (and I have no doubts about how fun it would be) - just got to get clearance from the dictator.
UGH! Scholesy - the game on the 23rd is almost certain to be moved due to the Europa game against Zenit (at Anfield) on the 21st!!! This means most likely a Sunday game instead of a Saturday. I'm not sure how that effects all your plans - but I might need to think a bit more regarding travel etc.
Just talking to them about this as it happens, we will be there already so it looks like we'll just go to two games instead of one. It won't really change anything for us other than an extra day in the UK. You should still come!!
I got a copy of Football Manager for Christmas. Haven't had a version since the 2001 season version that I finally stopped playing in 2005 or 6. It's definitely more addictive now that there are more options and it gives me something to do when I am not job hunting... I'm trying to get Harrogate Town into the football league. ah the romance of non-league footy...
And through the miracle of open tuning and five strings, he can still play Stones licks with those hands (ouch).
Have any of you ever participated in a Ragnar Relay? http://www.ragnarrelay.com/ My wife just flew to Miami for her first.
