yup. as usual with him its only a matter of time before this crest of the wave becomes a trough again. luckily he may have just enough time on his hands to settle down somewhere for a while and earn a move back to a top club
What's a first touch and ball control? If one of the best pundits says that players should run more like a madman, then he must surely be right? https://twitter.com/GNev2/status/442242436082204672
Ole is struggling right now. Another example of how this management gig isn't as easy as some may think. I really hope Cardiff still with him through until the end of next year. He need's a chance to put things right over the summer.
He is too attacking for a relegation threatened team; it is a bit like Southampton in the sense that they don't capitalize when they are playing well and leak goals all the time.
Disagree. That squad had enough to survive this year, and I think malkay would agree. 36 points will be safety this year. Thats it. Thats less than 1 pount per game.
Unless Ole was going to pull a Pulis-esque greater than the sum of all parts type thing, they were always going to go down: Their strikers are all meh, with the exception of Bellamy and he is old. Their midfield is below average and a bit light on numbers. Zaha blows hot and cold out wide and the other wingers are below average. (Daehli isn't a winger) And their defense is awful. For the type of football Ole likes his teams to play, there's no way that's good enough. He was better off managing a team like West Brom or Norwich.
Why? They were a point above the zone when he took over. He only needed to acheive at par with mackay to survive and he wasnt give a window to recruit some of his own charges, which he did. Fact is, his coaching of the defensive side l3aves a lot to be desired imo.
I just explained why, lol. Their squad isn't good enough to play front-foot, attacking football without paying dearly. Which is kind of my point. There's a minimum standard that a squad has to match quality-wise to be able to play attacking football and still pick up points. The likes of Swansea and Reading in their first season a few years ago etc are good examples of this. Cardiff's squad may be good enough to pull a Crystal Palace so to speak but Ole isn't about that.
John Duerden @JohnnyDuerden 38m Wow, Ex-Man Utd winger Dong Fangzhou has let himself go. Just 29 but not looking good. pic.twitter.com/7JAuGirrl9
