Did you forget a link or something? Because seriously, none of this makes any sense.

Why doesn't it make any sense? If it's a war, what do we call those on the other side that don't fight using traditional tactics and which seek to achieve political change by so doing?

Not promising, but we'll see how it plays out.

Ah, okay, I think I've figured it out, it wasn't clear that the little girl you were referring to had something to do with medical marijuana. At least that's what I'm guessing, as I try to reconstruct my mental process of three months ago....

If true, I don't know what to say. Shocked, but not surprised?

You should be able to click for a translation. If not, TIME has picked up the story:
    http://world.time.com/2014/01/14/dea-boosted-mexican-drug-cartel/
"The period when the relationship between the DEA and Sinaloa was supposed to have been the closest, between 2006 and 2012, saw a major surge of violence in Mexico, and was the time when the Sinaloa cartel rose significantly in prominence."
I can't imagine that either Presidents Bush or Obama had a clue, about what the DEA was up to. Where is the DoJ in all this?

    Translate button, baby.

It says the DEA will cozy up to one drug cartel to bust another. Which doesn't surprise me, in truth. The undercover business is a dirty one.

The DEA will do whatever it sees fit to generate the most money for themselves. A corrupt, ugly, and useless (for US citizens) organization. Every single thing they do is more bad than good, and most of it is only bad.

The GOP hates the ATF, but this Dept is way more dangerous to citizen's rights, more expensive (they care about costs, right? hahaha), more poorly run --- and they absolutely love it.

True, but there have to be limits. Allowing Sinoloa to continue to run drugs into the USA & dropping charges, reminds me of Catch-22 bombing your own base.

Barack Obama has got his man! Yes, the enemy Robert Duncan is going to be locked up in a steel and concrete cage.

What did this enemy of the state do?

The way we flushed out this enemy was genius by Mr. Obama.

Supreme Drug Warrior Barack Obama has not caved into pressure from the weak, and thus Robert Duncan, as best can tell, is still in jail.

How bad is the Drug War going in New Jersey? Even the prosecutors association is now against it.

The horrible disgusting Chris Christie remains in support of it of course.

Hopefully his term ends tomorrow, but that seems unlikely.

I'm white, don't need to use pot for medical purposes, and I don't work for a marijuana shop, so yes, I probably won't go to federal prison for pot use.

Another Drug War victory for General-in-Chief Obama, albeit a minor one.

Back in the dark ages when I was in college, I never saw a person who was stoned on grass exhibit anything but mellow behavior. Maybe it has something to do with the higher THC content of today's dope?

So what. Even if. We accept danger in all aspects of life. Even if this isnt bullshit there is a greater risk in snowmobiling, ice fishing, gymnastics, jumprope, weight lifting, curling, crossing the street, pogo stick, snake handling, child birth, hang gliding, alcohol, bicycling, rollerblading, home auto repair, ladders, barbecuing, tile installation, trains, being a cab driver, policing, firefighting, little league, escalators, tobacco, rubber dicks, feeding swans, dogs, golf, skiing, track and field, archery, guns, boats, scuba, hiking, prescription drugs, otc drugs, etc, etc, etc, etc.

Which shall we criminalize in the name of safety? Just because maybe someone might have been hurt is no reason to ban anything.

Ever heard of stoned and disorderly? No.

Might have been something else in his pipe along with the weed...

All I ever hear from old-timers is that the weed was better and cheaper back in the 70s and 80s.
