The Draw Was Rigged

If there was rigging going on, I would think it would be in favor of balancing the groups out. I'm not sure how it's in FIFA's interest that one of Brazil, Spain or the Netherlands is guaranteed not to make it past the Round of 16.

The video could have been in any language, anyone with eyes could see the content of the video was obvious. When Valcke opened the balls, he always put his hands down, hidden behind the podium, then pulled up papers that were straight. When the Brazilian model pulled papers out of the balls, they were tightly rolled and curled up as soon as she loosened her grip on the paper. Sorry I didn't take time to translate, I thought the video made very clear the discrepancy between Valcke's handling of the papers and the Brazilian model's.

3 possibilities I'm willing to entertain:

    1. FIFA manipulated the draw so that Argentina landed in Group F, setting up the possibility of a Brazil-Argentina final.

    2. Platini used his influence to ensure that France didn't automatically end up in the Special Pot (hence the "Pot X" draw).

    3. FIFA once again changed its seeding formula so that four South American sides would be seeded ahead of the first World Cup in South America since 1978.

But the idea that the entire draw is rigged? Come on, guys.

It's FIFA. Of course, they rigged the entire draw.

I mean come on, man. The USA gets Ghana, Portugal, and Germany, all teams the USA has histories against, in a "random" draw?

I would be surprised if the entire draw was rigged. But I think FIFA always puts in a couple of "pre-set results," usually involving giving the host nation an easy group draw at a minimum.

Correction: FIFA are trying to kill Juergen F***in' Klinsmann, but I am not sure if they will succeed this time.

So Fifa is claiming they have angles of the event from multiple angles, including a top down one. Why wasn't that angle used at least once. Something stinks here. I really hope they release some other footage, but I bet they won't.

Well done. I had to read it twice. The first time I was like 'this doesn't sound like they rigged it'. The second time was the 'ahhh, I see what you did' moment.

Of course. Just drop off a pickup truck full of nonsequential 500 Euro notes in my garage, and I assure you that it will be ready by 2022. Totally legit.

Our betting odds of winning the Cup plummeted right before the draw was to occur. They said that at the beginning the draw special on ESPN. And then we proceeded to get a tough draw. I'm just saying.

your ridiculous if you think FIFA rigged actually the whole draw. US got a crazy easy group last WC and a crazy hard group this one. Nigeria has been in Argentina's group 4 of its 5 world cups, coincidences happen i dont think FIFA has a Nigerian-Argentinian fetish any more than a Ghanian-US one, its random. if it was rigged, group A and B would not be anything like it is now

3 countries were critical of Qatar 2022: Australia (the FA even tried to sue to get its bid expenses back), England (they have been crowing about it) and the USA (Gulati had some measured words about how the bid process worked, amnesty int'l bringing up the human rights issue, etc.).

How did those 3 teams fare in the draw?
