Move them to Tucson. Could play in Kino Stadium (expand it like they did to Jeld-Wen) where they play the preseason tournament. Desert Diamond FC
I think if they schedule 4am games they can make a go at this. PS: This is the Qatar solution. If they play the WC games between 1-6am they may have a chance at this.
One team is enough for LA. Get rid of it and let the top 4 teams in attendance in NASL and USL play for the spot.
Lol, like it's just that easy. Thank you so much for solving all our problems, I can't imagine why the bigwigs at MLS HQ didn't think of that????????
Since you're on a roll why not take a crack at the whole global warning thing, you obviously have a gift.
Are you the one who's going to tell Orlando that they just spent millions of dollars for absolutely nothing?
It was 95 degrees with sustained wind of 20+ mph (gusts over 30 mph) on Monday and Tuesday here: And here being one of the flattest places on the continent -- sure we're at 3000 ft, but can't call it anything but flat land.
No leaks or peeps out there about this. I know a lot is going on with MLS right now, but this has been quiet... .....to quiet.
I think it's probably a case of waiting until something can change (they're not changing the name mid-season,) and not wanting to be the triangle drowned out by the symphony. NYCFC, ATL, ORLC, and Miami, have been making announcements left and right for the last month and a half, and that's a lot of shuffle to get lost in, perhaps they're biding their time to make as big of a noise as possible.
If they had something done this soon I would give MLS all the respect in the world. I would think that whatever due diligence would have to be done would take months. While not like NY, the stadium deal is trickier than people think. Exposition park is the obvious place to put it but there's still the question of how it's financed. If the owner wants to plunk down $200mm then there's no problem. If he wants the city to issue the bonds to take advantage of the lower interest rates, then problem. Or at least enough of an issue that it needs to be sorted out. You don't want a situation where they announce a new owner, the city balks at supporting a new stadium and so the new LA team has to play indefinitely at Dodger stadium. That wouldn't be good.
Didn't they state that they wouldn't announce anything before the all star game? Irrespective of if they are already far along any agreement, its totally correct that there is so much news going around that juggling another ball is unadvised. Especially because there is little, if anything, to be gained by announcing now. The fact that there are no rumors going around might mean anything.
