This thread is to keep the on-going tallies of runs scored in the four challenges going at the moment.

The Beer Challenge is between Rumbel & Buckles for most runs in their partnership.

The Red Bull Challenge is between S.O.C. (Spirit of Cricket- Brad) and Pup for most runs in their partnership.

The Partnership Challenge is between the two pairs for most runs scored as a partnership.

The Individual Challenge is between all four individually for best batting average.

The current totals at the end of Round 13 (excluding round 4 which I don't have) are:

    Round 13

    The Beer Challenge

    Rumbel: 15 Total: 145
    Buckles: 42 Total:136

    The Red Bull Challenge

    SOC: 5 Total: 91
    Pup:14 Total: 126

    The Partnership Challenge

    Rumbel & Buckles: 65 Total: 356
    SOC & Pup: 27 Total: 275

The funny thing about this is two weeks ago the scores were pretty much even- in two weeks Rumbel & Buckles have scored 87 more runs! :)

    The Individual Challenge

    SOC: 5 Total: 91 avge from 10 inns: 9.1
    Pup: 14 Total: 126 avge from 10 inns: 12.6
    Rumbel: 15 Total: 165 avge from 10 inns: 16.5
    Buckles: 42 Total: 136 avge from 8 inns: 17.0

(Note: These are excluding round 4)

The rules of the challenges are pretty simple.

The loser (least runs) in the Red Bull and Beer Challenge have to buy the winner a full carton (24 bottles) of red bull or beer depending on the challenge.

The partnership challenge losers have to buy the winners a carton (24 bottles) of Red Bull or Beer depending on the winner.

The indvidual challenge losers have to buy the winner a 6 pack each of red bull or beer depending on the beer.

Also you cannot run each other out deliberately or hog the strike. Scores for the partnership challenges only count when the players bat together.

Now everyone is wondering why I specified a carton as 24 bottles. Well a few seasons ago, Buckles won the partnership challenge however the loser (won't mention any names El Capo) bought a carton of 12 beers and not the 24 bottles as required. However his argument was that 12 bottles does constitute a carton. That is why the rules have to be displayed.

Well to gets the facts straight, the bet was for a 'case' of beer.

I bought a small 'case' of beer, but it still was a 'case' as such and compliant with the rules at the time of the competition! :D

Hence the clarity in what constitutes a case now! ;)

    Live payouts at the moment.

Beer Challenge - Buckles owes 24 bottles of imported beer to Rumbel

Red bull challenge - SOC owes 24 bottles of Red Bull to Pup

Spirit Challenge - Percy owes Mick a bottle of Jim Beam or Scotch

Partnership Challenge - SOC and Pup owe a carton of beer in total to Buckles to Rumbel

Individual Challenge - SOC, Pup and Rumbel owe a 6 pack each to Buckles.

The biggest loser: SOC - 24 bottles of Red Bull and 18 bottles of beer, Percy gets a honourable mention with a loss of one bottle of spirit.

The biggest winner: Toss up between Mick with a bottle of spirit and Rumbel with a net gain of 30 bottles of beer.

Pup walks away with a carton of red bull but owes 18 bottles while Buckles is down a carton but gains 30 bottles so ends up with a six pack gain.

As of one week later SOC has still not coughed up the case of Red Bull to Pup for the Red Bull Challenge. Now that's tighter than getting half a case! :D

I blame all the losses on the last few captains because of their lack of long term recruitment. We lost Mick, Matt and Percy from last two seasons and if the retired trio of Boy, Doc and Willis did not come back we would have been in big trouble. I am now rebuilding the side so we can make a charge at the semis.

Our biggest problem will be next season when we will have Pup, Soc, Boy, El capo, Buckles, Doc, Boy, Matt, Willis, Scott and myself available for selection.

We would then have to drop all the non performers like Buckles. Until last week's belting we have held our own against higher grade players. So I may have the worst record ever as Cattledogs captain but we are rebuilding to another dynasty after this season. Go me.

I am going to drop SOC for his treachery in not paying his dues to Pup and Buckles as part of the building the dynasty and setting up of a leadership group high in values. But until we have 9 players to choose from he is a valued and integral member of the side. He is now Skase the 2nd.
