Of course Findley will play in friendlies. Why wouldn't he? He was a 24-year old playing internationally for like the fifth time in his life at the WC. If he's not good enough in '14, he won't play. The end.

"Silencing the critics"? Clever retort but that hardly what I suggested. We just don't need another thread of Chicken Little posts.

    This.

Look at our roster. How many of our players are good enough to start for a top flight European team? Not very many. I think Bob did well with what he had. Hopefully the player pool will improve during the next cycle.

I also don't know why there's this Democrat/Republican divide between Bradley haters and anybody who points to our players being even partially at fault for playing badly. I don't even like Bradley that much, but its more than a little stupid to respond to anything with this garbage nonsense.

umm.. did you see the defensive shape (or lack there of) he employs? He is NOT a world class coach, there is a reason he could not get a job anywhere else!! with a good coach the USMT could have gone to the semi's!!

He's not good enough. But he'll keep getting minutes.

The "Fire Bradley" party line: "Hire Klinsmann. Win World Cup."

Keep dreaming. We're making great progress.

Not nearly as dumb as starting Robbie Findley in three World Cup games.

But there isn't a Robbie Findley-related reaction thread.

Seriously man keep dreaming, Bob Bradley is a step backwards. If you had any idea of how to organize a team defensively you would understand that BB does not know how to compete on a world class level. After all we had a cakewalk of a group in 2010

Yes! Each match that Danny Mwanga doesn't play for the U.S. is evidence of RoboBob's dastardly scheming!

Re: Bob Bradley gets 4-year extension...incredible

So you're blaming Bob Bradley for the United States' failure, over the course of a century, to produce not only a world-class striker, but a striker who can put away point blank scoring chances, of which there were many against Ghana? ESPN has us with 6 shots on target. Man, I wish Bradley's right foot didn't suck so bad.

And which "world class coach" do you think Gulati passed up to rehire Bradley?

Don't get me wrong, I believe there are quite a few "better" coaches out there...just few that would take the job (especially for what USSF will pay).

Re: 4 more years of Bob is final nail in the coffin for Adu's national team aspirations

If the World Cup had been in 2008, Adu would have been on the roster as an 18 year old. He was starting or getting minutes in almost all of our matches.

Now what he needs is consistent playing time to get back on the radar.

prolly would have been a step forward... show me a team that has progressed after keeping a coach for 2 cycles???

play football at a high level then get back to me.

Re: Bob Bradley gets 4-year extension...incredible

I love how BB organizes the defense actually. People keep complaining about him using 2 defensive holding mids instead of doing more attack diamond midfield but I love it. I think it suits our player pool very well. So yeah, I think you are pretty off base here. Along with our good efforts in SA2010 we SHUT OUT SPAIN in 2009. BB knows what he's doing defensively.

You don't. And as one who takes any criticism of RoboBob as "Chicken Little" stuff, you feel quite in your right to set the rules as to who can speak about what. There are many facets to managing a national team, and a thread can center around one specific individual who exemplifies the "quality" of the managers judgement of talent. But you would like to bury it all under one single catch, where it can all safely be ignored.
That is the consequence of what you suggested. And my wager is you know it.

Yeah, that's rich. Maybe people who follow USA soccer will not hear about all the people opposed to BB keeping his job because 16 different BS threads were merged into one. :D

Re: Bob Bradley gets 4-year extension...incredible

I'm skeptical about the USMNT's chances on making the quarter finals in 2014, which wouldn't be a completely surprising thought with or without Bob anyway. For the near future, though, I sure as hell do not want to see another pathetic showing against Mexico in the next Gold Cup.

Also, if Fabio Capello gets another chance to redeem himself (which I support), Bradley might as well get another chance - despite my bandwagon dislike for him.

How many goals did we allow within 10 mins of restarts?

    This is bad organization.

I have no problem with 2 defensive mids. Both our defensive mids especially MB and Clark mark SPACE not people. You cannot do that. Thus allowing themselves to get split as well.

In fact one our biggest problem is the defensive shape our our forwards. Count how many times Altidore and Findley got split. This is defensive blasphemy.

if you chase ppl you will get split..if you do zone D and do it well then you will have a solid D..in soccer we dont chase a player who doesnt have the ball..then that leaves holes to get SPLIT..
