I still rue the day Shearer decided to call it a day on the England side.

It was far too early and especially given the fact that we are now currently depending on Owen for a strike force.

Sven has said that if Shearer wanted to come out of international retirement, he would have a place to come back to.

COME BACK SHEARER - just for a bit, don't want to get into the whole Seaman type affair.

Shearer would not now be in the form he is in if he were still an England regular.

And when he WAS still the mainstay of England's attack, he - and they - were pap.

    Why?
Because of all the work that the 'constant' England matches would take out of him?
    Otherwise, what's your reasoning?

Whereas, we're just setting the world alight at the moment.
We need someone with greater presence than Owen, and with more skill than any of our other strikers seem to possess.
Bring in Shearer for a half or 2 in the qualfiers is what I say.

Shearer is not particularly old ( 31 I think)
Laurent Blanc at 38 plays in MU first eleven. That is quite an achievement.

    I vote for McAllister.

That dude is younger than he looks. He needs to hit the Rogaine. badly.

    Mcallister takes my vote

should Zola be considered old at 36, but I still think Mcallister edges everyone out for a mile
