Re: The Besiktas-Gang of four Besiktas got off to a poor start this year, but fortunately with Simao, Manele and Almeida all cup-tied in Europe, they should be able to gain some ground in the Turkish league. Bad news for the club is that one of their best CB, Ersan Gulum (#22) is out for the season with a torn ACL. This especially sucks since they have the foreign player limit rule, where I think 5 people with Turkish passports have to be on the pitch at the same time.
Re: The Besiktas-Gang of four Yeap. But, do not forgot to add: Trabzonspor aka Black Sea Tiger is forth big of the Turkish football. They have won title 6 time at the 70s-80s periods... Trabzonspor is club of Trabzon city. The city of Black Sea region. Its a football city , same as Napoli(football city). Trabzonspor ones again comeback to the title fight thanks to the coach Senol Gunes. They have very good squad and they play one of the best footy in the league consistendly alonside Besiktas. Recent years , Sivasspor,Kayserispor almost get there to win the title, but they lost the title race at the final week dramaticaly... Last season Bursaspor did follow same step as Sivasspor and Kayserispor. But this time Bursaspor finished the job at the final week with a way of historic dramatic joyfull title grap from Fenerbahce. Bursaspor won the final week and same hour Fenerbahce draw 1-1 at the home vs Trabzonspor. Bursaspor get the first place and won the league in first time in their history. Galatasaray has got good star players recent seasons under the world famous Frank Rijkaard.. But, Galatasaray dissapointly didint finish well... Elano,Baros,Kewell,Keita,Neill,Arda,Dos Santos,Leo Franco ,Nonda ,Lincoln etc, but they were trouble with injury players and lost the rhytim.... Fenerbahce were smilar case under the Spain NT coach (euro 2008 champion coach), they didint won title since then.... Their last good perform was under the Zico era..... Besiktas failed under the Del Bosque.... but with Schuster, they look more as a TEAM and play good football with consistend way... Its not easy to win at the away game in this league, that why Besiktas lost points at the first half of the current season at the away game aspecialy, but, with Simao,Almeida,Fernandes addition, Besiktas looks more balance team. Q7 and Guti are the MVPP of the team and I believe if they continue same way, I gues one of them will gonna win the MVP title. My other predict is Trabzonspor player Selcuk Inan or Umut Bulut. Overall; The league become more competitive ,with more teams to race for Title. This adds lots of adrenaline and quality and joy to follow this league alonside top leagues of Europe. The truth is, Turkish league is one of the rising league of the worls since last few years, and evin this eason this shows its true..... Hopefully this rising level will continue and Turkish league will get good spot alonside top four leagues of Europe. ps: Q7 reborn . Iam saying this ones again. He play not just good , He play very consistend and top consantration. He gets full of support from Fans and MEdia. He gets respect from his teammates and from opposite team players. The league defens players very strong. There is many NT defenders that Q7 face it. He showed and successed vs Lugano,Neill,Servet Cetin,Yobo etc...thoes defenders are Nt's captains CB's... Q7 showed and successed vs Wing BAcks of opposite teams too. He showed this at the European League aka UEFA Cup opposite team defenders too. Nometter what game status league status, Turkish League or other League, If the player Feels GREAT MOOD. He can show his full potential to the pitch with consistend way. In IStanbul club, Q7 witnessed many good and unforgotable things, all were happy moments since His arrive, and This all plus positive things maked Him REBORN. As I told it before. He didint get all this good moods positive honesty wellcome at other league where He played before. In one of His interview, He said how he was dissapoint and unhappy at his Inter era... The club and fans trade him very bad way . Thankfuly He get Good warm hospotality wellcome eversince He arrive Istanbul club and today this mood continue nometter what. Happy to see Him getsback NT squad call. Back to the main thread: Simao's assist was world class, and Almeida very good finish... Fernandes showed his quality from He entered to the game..Aspecialy His long powerfull shots were cool. Thins looks great at the moment for Besiktas...and for Portugal diamonds.... Besiktas is arcrival of Galatasaray and Besiktas...In that league I support Galatasaray. But, I like beauty football, As a neutral fan,therefor I keep update Q7 thread consistendly. Regards.....
Re: The Besiktas-Gang of four ^ Again, I'm gonna have to disagree with you about Quaresma, even though he's one of my favourite players. Both the Portuguese and Turkish leagues are way weaker than Serie A, so I think that's the main reason why he has excelled this year. Turkish fans are great, and it's nice that he feels happy...but the guy does have a massively inflated ego of himself, meaning that he finds it difficult to train hard on a consistent basis and buy into the team concept that clubs like Inter employ.

Fernandes right place/right time after a low cross finds him right in the middle of the box below the penalty spot and he buries it. Manelele getting chances to prove himself. Proving his excellent vision (43') perfectly threaded pass to Bobo who doesn't convert. No Simao, no Almeida sightings yet. Quaresma, his usual noticeable self. Hearing "Quareshma" and "Fernandesssss" alot on the Turkish broadcast.

Besiktas 4 - 0 Gaziantep 50' Bobo (PK) Not more than 1 min after, Quaresma taken down on the edge of the box- called penalty Besiktas 5 - 0 Gaziantep 62' Quaresma Quaresma pots one in from a FK. Blame the wall, it wasn't a screamer at all. Either way, goal's a goal. Quaresma subbed off (had a yellow) at 68'.
Re: The Besiktas-Gang of four ^ Good stuff, thanks for the update; I stopped watching after the 1st half. Besiktas should definitely contend for this cup, which would guarantee them a European place for next season regardless of where they finish in the league.

Re: The Besiktas-Gang of four Unfortunately Manny and Simao are both cup-tied from representing Valencia and Atletico respectively in Europe before the new year. Almedia also played for Bremen, but you can register 1 new player, and they chose him. Either way, a pathetic result for BJK.

They are way down the league table, got humiliated in the Europa League by Dynamo Kyiv, and have to win the Turkish Cup just to get a European spot for next season. Obviously not what Manny, Hugo and Simao expected, but let's see who replaces the German coach.
