No doubt about that PK. Defender flopped thinking he get the call, and Ox stayed strong.

def pen, but looked like a def foul on popov to get the ball that led to the pen.

I thought the ref blew for that at first, did seem Chamberlain just bundled him over.

I don't know. Defenders are used to getting that call. Popov didn't need to go over, he felt contact, went, and assumed he'd get a call.

Per gets carded for constant bitching. That's swell.

dont think it was a foul on popov. He went down thinking they got the call.

Can't fault his effort, but you can't praise it either. Effort is requisite, not noteworthy.

The effort is exactly what I've wanted to see from all of our players. Can't deny he makes some infuriating decisions, but I hate losing for lack of effort.

how many coaches love a player because of their sheer determination and fight. A lot of them.

so the question is...did we really just need a rest? Do we not have to buy now because we just needed a rest? ;)

I know. It's just such an easy thing to say, that a player "worked hard" or "gave it his all". He should work hard!! He should give his best effort! haha

Love that the home support is getting on Myhill just for the fun of it.

Finally the announcers come right out and call Cazorla's dive for what it was. Initially they were so oddly generous, e.g. "no apparent contact".

Gary Weaver doesn't show much conviction about diving, but Paul Walsh seems to have had a 2nd half conversion... saying "that really should be punished".

Which it should... Cazorla, (other Arsenal players who will remain nameless right now), Samaras, Suarez, Rooney, Torres, Bale, etc, etc, etc.

As captain, Verm should have a word with Santi and instruct him that diving hurts him and the club. AW should reinforce that, as well.

We've tripled our penalty count for the season in this game. We really need to get the ball in the box more.
