Jon Champion was gracious in saying "Sczesney had a shall we say 'eccentric' first half".

I watched it on DVR on fast-fwd but were we really as shaky at the back as it looked?

We HAVE to score 2-3 goals becuase you can totally imagine LFC getting at least 1 more. Perhaps down our left side?

He's definitely dropped off since his first month. He's been pretty invisible recently

definitely. we deliberately slowed the game down, but it doesn't help us at all. it gives us possession but reduces our chances of killer throughballs.

as for the call on ramsey/agger and non-call on suarez/sagna....it's because suarez and sagna were alongside each other and were shoulder to shoulder. ramsey went shoulder to shoulder but not from alongside. the ref was correct.

This is true. He has his moments, but he's been nowhere near Fabregas' best.

On the upside, if there is one, if we lose, it makes it somewhat likely we sign someone by tomorrow.

I think there's a real chance that we could pull a Liverpool; i.e. if we lose Champions League football this season we won't get it back any time soon.

Fabregas grew up with the team. This group has been thrown together, with the only constant being the loss of quality each summer.

defence aside, individually the players aren't actually playing badly. they just aren't imposing a fast enough style of play...they haven't been since around the 20th minute.

The problem with this team is that there are too many players who's play is dictated by the nature of each game, rather than players who dictate the play of the game.

At what point does this all really come down to our tactics and how we're using the players that we DO have ?

We do have quite a bit of quality in the squad to be fair (I'm just suck of Wenger using that as an excuse to not get involved in the market). Our current tactics just haven't been working for us.

What a comedy of errors at the back on L'Pool goal. Pathetic and shocking at that level.

That's a great comment. Another way of saying we don't have any talismanic players.

That just about sums up everything right now. It is a good thing that Sturridge has not learned how to finish.

Sad little dive by Podolski. We're looking desperate now.

Nice run by Walcott. Just over. Say what you will about Walcott - his runs off the ball are exquisite, with control of timing, pace, and direction.

From the weird little skills file: Suarez is better at chesting the ball and moving off that chest than maybe anyone I've ever seen.
