Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla, Walcott, Podolski, Giroud Subs: Mannone, Koscielny, Jenkinson, Santos, Diaby, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Rosicky Good call by Wenger. Definitely good enough to beat Liverpool. Would have preferred Jenks over Sagna to be honest though.
Like Kirby says above, this team inspires a big, fat Meh in nearly every way. Not short on talent, but short on motivation, team spirit and essentially, likability (with a few exceptions). I watch teams like Swansea, Norwich, West Brom, for example, and think to myself "Man, it must be easy to root for teams that seem to go out every time, play with discipline, play hard". Still be a gooner till I die, but this team inspires few.
Only real decision was Ramsey or Diaby. Diaby was a beast at Anfield - would have loved to see him try that again.
He's obviously being rested due to being "overplayed" lol. But yeah it would have been nice to see that performance repeated.
it'll be interesting to see if mertesacker can stifle sturridge's pace. i might have went with koscielny and jenkinson for this one.
(from BBC) Statisticians Opta on Twitter: "Arsenal have made more errors (13) leading directly to a goal than any other team in the Premier League this season."
From the best RB in the league to the worst defender in our 11. Sagna should go this summer because Jenks is now better and that's sad to say. But good for Jenks.
