Returns this week! My favorite new show last season and I have high hopes for season two. My only concern is the fact that Margo Martindale is (supposedly) not returning.
I'm interested in seeing where it's going. Season one was ok, nothing all that great. I rate it as one of the weakest FX shows.
Really? Well I guess this stuff is very subjective. Based on what I've read from the critics who got to see the first five episodes, the second season is really good.
Liked the season opener well enough. Who is supposed to have killed the other family though? The guys who were tailing the dude making the drop? Were the killers supposed to be Americans? What would be their incentive to slaughter the operatives? Wouldn't they have been more valuable alive?
It doesn't help that the first season is only on Amazon. I've told people to watch it but most people have Netflix only. I love this show. I hope it sticks around.
at the beginning, after phillip's meeting with the two afghans "went bad" and he ran into the kid in the kitchen, that was brutal. at first, when he leaned in and said it was ok, i was thinking, "no way he lets him live," but i felt good for the kid that phillip apparently has a heart. BANG! ...aaand nevermind. it had to be done, though.
I just love this show! It wasn't too surprising that Elizabeth ended up not following through on her promise. That kid was already messed up enough without knowing his parents had been spies.
I'll probably steer clear of this thread as the 2nd series is starting in the UK on Saturday night. Looking forward to it.
Well, that too... but I took it that, if he found out about his parents it might raise the issue of who ELSE the Soviets have in the same situation and, bearing in mind the kid had seen Phillip leaving the scene after they found the bodies, that probably wouldn't have been a good thing.
Infinitely likable cast, just a fun group of people to spend an hour with - sort of. I really hope Matthew Rhys gets some recognition for his work on this show this year.
Another very good episode. I just love the pacing on this show, it never seems to drag nor feel rushed.
I really enjoyed Emily Nussbaum's take on the show: http://www.newyorker.com/arts/criti...40331crte_television_nussbaum?currentPage=all
I'm bummed there wasnt a marathon for those of us who missed season 1. I guess we'll have to wait until after this season ends?
