Far be it from me to be "superstitious" but Oezil's invisible performances began once his welcome thread was closed. Now that his performances have leveled off a bit I will take this time to remind you all I warned you about tempering your expectations but let's not dwell on how right I was :D

However so no one will think I'm a hater I've opened a new thread for Bug Eyes in the hope that this will help him find his form despite the fact it will draw out the German fanboys again

I have a feeling tomorrow we're gonna have a hero, Oezil's due a good game just like many of our other players so fingers crossed.

Mod request: YS, put your pants back on, this is a family board!

    :p

Ozil needs to be more visible and demanding of the ball. He and Canales to me are the key to our club really progressing in attack.

I really like this player...but he gets tired too quickly. He looks exhausted most of the time.

I fear he is burning out. I have the same fear for Ronaldo and Xabi. Clubs and NT's dependent on them for every game, can't even get a substitution. One of the reasons I think Gonzo and Marcelo have done well here is they haven't had the added pressure and work load that accompanies NT duty. Hopefully Canales gets healthy and we start scoring early so that we can get a rotation going. I'm a firm believer in rotating players.

Also I think it is in the creative midfielders DNA to play the part of the burdened artist. Even thought he's got the job the rest of us only dream about. Just like it is difficult for a goalscorer to score every time he gets the ball, the creative midfielder doesn't make defense splitting plays everytime he gets the ball. Same things we complained about with Guti, Kaka, and VdV. He's good for 60-70 minutes or 2-3 games, then he's suddenly crap.

Are you being critical of these photos or are you trying to get him alone for yourself. I'm confused, whose shirt is that?

Holy crap!!! Who the hell dressed him up in that? That is almost has criminal as thinking that taking a picture sipping out of a waterfountain might be a good idea.
Hard to look that tough in green socks...a tribute to Werder perhaps, lol.
