Considering he never got there until the end of October, 9 appearances at Christmas for a loan player is really good. So that's great to hear!

Assaidi scored a goal but went off at HT.

    Borini went full 90.

Both these loans seem to be working out so far

Borini starts again. He's the only player for Sunderland who has threatened the goal.

2 great shots. One of which had a rebound that Jozy Altidore missed from about 2 yards out.

Borini subbed at HT of Cardiff-Sunderland.

Collapsed in tunnel and was driven by ambulance to local hospital.

Just reported live on NBC during game.

    Yeah. Taken to A & E.

EDIT: Update is that it was precautionary. He did look knackered at the end of the half.

It seems that Poyet's official response is that he was ill before/during game and played himself to point of exhaustion.

He's been released from hospital so all signs are good.

I think he showed some balls to go on and run himself into hospital.

Ryan McLaughlin had a nice debut for Barnsley the other day.

Borini woulda been a good option off the bench to turn to late in the Villa game. I would almost prefer to recall him than to buy Salah...

What is the situation with Suso...is he on loan to that spanish club, or did he get sold?

Borini, Assaidi, Wisdom...all on loan...anyone else? It seems we had a crop of young talent that looked promising...just wondering about their status...

Suso is on loan, and out of favor in La Liga games. I think he should stay for the rest of the season. But Wisdom should come back pronto, our defense just is thin on depth from injuries and with Johnson gone and Kelly's issues with swelling, Wisdom would easily be our make shift RB with Flanno at LB until Jose is back. The other two are full season, don't really think we need Borini or Assaidi this season, but next season will be nice to have them as depth.

Thanks - so can we get Wisdom back for the remainder of the season, or is there something in his loan that keeps him with...Derby is it?

No idea, usually you can recall players at your own will.

But it has detrimental effects on the future loans, and any potential deals. They would lose out on a fee, and probably hinder any deal for Hughes (who knows of that's a possibility).

Cutting short a loan is usually bad form unless it's a mutual deal.

There are probably stipulations put into the loan contract on whether a recall is possible.

Borini was great again for Sunderland.

Assaidi wasn't perfect but definitely provided a spark off the bench for Stoke today.

Borini goal and assist this morning. Could prove himself very useful next season if we get european football.

I think Borini has played well enough at Sunderland to play for us next year. I'm still convinced that both he and Allen will turn out to be good signings. Allen has played really well when he's been healthy this season, and Borini has had a fantastic loan spell. With these young players, sometimes all they need is time (see: Henderson & Lucas)

I though Assaidi brought a different dimension to Stoke when he came off the bench. I'm not all that opposed to keeping him, but I think selling him to help fund better player is still the better option, especially if we get CL football, which is looking more and more likely by the week now.

Both Borini and Assaidi have 3 prem goals this season, if either want to stay, they both will considerably have to up their game as Rodgers is clearly looking at bringing in other forwards to complement our attack.

If neither player were Liverpool players I doubt any of us would be salivating to bring them to Anfield. If it was a choice between the 2 I'd probably pick the one on the least wages or sell the one who would bring in the most money.
