Reus almost scored. We are better in the second half offensively. What Klopp needs to do now is take off Grosskreutz asap and play Kuba because Lewa is much better with Kuba around.

Weidenfeller is awesome right now and no mention of it...was too busy sucking up to Alaba.

    Very funny to watch.

Weidenfeller is often awesome and doesn't get any love from the German media either........

Painful to watch Dortmund like this. Losing all semblance of their identity.

They'll score a 2nd before we get a 1st; if we score at all. We just cannot connect.

I notice my BVB app isn't making my phone vibrate much at all.

Still...as bad as BVB is playing, Bayern should be killing them...it is only 1-0...at home.

While Bayern are playing very, very well...we are kinda playing like shit. The whole team. It's not like when we played in the CL or EL a couple season back and played well but failed to score - we just can't do anything that a good footballing club does, the passing, the pressing, the off the ball play. amateurhour

We are better in attack this second half. We can definitely equalize. It is not out of question.

    From Poorvi on the Bayern match thread, who knows very little about BvB unless a player plays for the German NT;

If you were listening to this match and did not know the score one would think Bayern up by 3 or 4 goals.

Despite the one goal, I think Bayern have been in the driver's seat since kickoff.

They have that air about them this season. They can close out matches after one goal because they are so organized defensively. In Dante and Martinez they have two nearly unplayable players.

Amazing how three players completely transformed the mentality of this side.

I don't think the three players transformed much. I think Matthias Sammer transformed the mentality of FC Bayern as a whole.......

    Won't dispute that.

Cris. I didn't comment on Santana tonight because I didn't see the match.

I also did not say Santana isn't bad. However, he does also get blamed for many things which either weren't his fault or weren't his fault alone.

If you have beef with what I said, just say so.

The announcer does tons of Bundesliga matches all year, and usually gives tons of praise to whoever is playing best in the match in question. He works for the Bundesliga as one of the 3-4 guys who do English coverage of league matches.

I don't have a beef with anything. I am just saying that while some will blame him for anything and everything, weather it is his fault or not, there are other neutrals who see him for what he really is - mediocre. I'm not saying you agree on that stance or not, I just quoted your post to continue the observation for this particular match.

Santana will get a lot of shit for Robben's goal. I think Schmelzer needs to share the bulk of that.

BVB had a nice fightback in the second half, and for a while I was expecting Bayern to make another blunder and let you all back into the match. It should have been over at half time, given the 2-3 missed gilt edged chances.

Santana really struggles with balls played in the air, even Robben was consistently winning aerial duels with him.

I get that. But he really does go overboard for Bayern. A classic example was about ten mins from time when Reus had that shot. His response was calm as in "Neuer had that covered" but the crowd reaction at north end was anything but calm...it very much looked like going in.

Contrast that with Weidenfeller's double-save a few mins later. He was too busy giving Alaba oral when he then switched to how amazing the goal-scoring effort was but not a WORD about the double save. It wasn't until the next save he made that he gave token acknowledgement to the save.

Weidenfeller made one really fantastic save in the match (the long range shot from Kroos), and was rightly praised for it.

This is the same announcer that has been heaping praise all over Reus all season long in the BL. He had a very poor game for his standards. BVB in general were very poor in this match, and I don't think the announcer was biased at all. In fact many times last season this same announcer was routinely criticized by Bayern fans for being "anti-Bayern".

The double save you are referring to was a Dante header that Goetze cleared off the line with Weidenfeller rooted to the spot, and then Dante headed the rebound directly back to Weide.
