Well, Dwight's defensive chops are beyond question. LeBron is not in the same class as Howard defensively, no doubt. But offensively Howard still has a ways to go. He should constantly be drawing double teams, but he doesn't because offensively, he is still limited. The best two-way player in the league is still Kobe Bryant.
Anyone who votes for James as DPY should lose their voting privileges for cluelessness. As for Howard and the MVP. I think people have a hard time voting for a guy who has no offensive basketball skills whatsoever.
Al Horford 6'10 He's a horse. If he played beside a true Center he'd be the 2nd best PF in basketball behind Tim Duncan <who ate Al's nuts last night> outta here with softass Bosh, Amare, & gasol [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIGHiWmeu1s"]YouTube- Al Horford powerfull dunk over Tim Duncan face vs San Antonio Spurs[/ame]
Actually, his offense has improved tons in the last month. It wasn't so much that his offense was limited, but that he just wasn't asking for the ball, and the other Magic players were going about their business (finding an open man to shoot the jumper). Ewing had a talk to him about being the leader and getting serious, and start asking for the ball more, and he has done so lately. He's now even dribbling across the court on fast breaks!! Now him learning how to stay out of foul trouble and getting those goddamn free-throws to go in is a whole other story.
Looked pretty dominant last year at 23 years old when he took the Magic past the mighty celtics and lebron's cavs all the way to the finals. The guy is 24 years old and is a top 3 center in the league if not the best.(imo the best) Is the best defensive center in the league and like CIA said his offensive game is getting better. I would take him over any center in the NBA today. The only other center I think comes close to him is Bynum. The magic are currently sitting in the #2 seed in the east and they would not be there if it wasn't for Dwight Howard and his play. So imo Dwight Howard is a dominant player. When a center averages almost 20ppg, grabs 14 rebs and blocks almost 3 shots a game, I would say he's dominating.
Watch some old Orlando tapes from when Shaq was there. The gap between these two players is enormeus. If O'Neal was young today he'd destroy Howard every chance he got.
Rumor is that Ginobili may bolt for Real Madrid this summer. I hope not, but with Duncan in such a visible decline, I wouldn't blame him for making one last cash grab.
Who Ginobili? If he'd stay healthy consistently I'd agree with you. And if he hadn't freaking fouled Nowitzki!
