If only they knew that you put them together by intercepting PMs between DS and I...

Nah, fair play all in all, it's been a massive achievement! Probably the most definitive/comprehensive listing on the net of anything like this for any team sport I follow, to be honest.

People also check these lists because other people take it too serious when giving their final judgement (in debates)...

Of course, people are just looking for something to validate their opinion. If the list suits their point then they use it, if not then it is a load of subjective rubbish.

Don't take it personal but I've heard some people saying to me over PM that they made a certain pick because other folks take a list like this (and some others) very serious in end-of-the-draft debates. So they also look at those lists, and sometimes their congruence too, to estimate whether their composition will make a chance.

I've said it before but lists like those are subjective by definition and the differences between number 90 and number 30 are quite small. If Giannini (#84) and Antognoni (#25) are turned around in an AM list, it had not been a big injustice (IMO - there are some things that speak in the favour of Giannini and the other way around).

Well all lists are subject of controversy ... there is NO universal agreement at the end of the day.
There is no "best list" but the better list and worse ones ...

from ... Pele's 125, to World Soccer players TOP100 to latest TOP100 by Association of Statistics ... LOL

[I've always thought that your lists are of the highest class of "subjective rubbish"... ;)]

Talent, determination, and a little bit of luck. Doping can help too of course.

On what did/do you base the high placing of Ocwirk? In comparison with other ones who were great in their own era. How to assess 'dominance' and consistent form in his case?

Certainly I think that it's difficult with a player like Ocwirk.

I don't have really anything to go on in terms of consistency, but in terms of peak play you can see how highly rated he is by the frequency with which he was picked in all time 100s and all-time XIs etc. I have seen a bit of him at WC 54 as well where he was very good, but not enough to base an enormous opinion on.

Of which (other) all time XIs are you aware?

I also do think that he is close to Boszik btw (even though they were slightly different) but was curious if you have a clue about his consistency on the highest level (might be that you know reports from 1951 and from 1962 for example).

He's in Eric Batty's all-time team and also named by Brian Glanville as his 18th best player ever.

Struggling to remember any others to be honest.
