Guys, my aid mission to the colonies is now at its end and I must return to the motherland. I have over seen the coup and installed a new president, my job is done! :D

On a serious note though, I just want to say a big thank you to all you guys who made this one hell of a trip for me. Everyone who I met, or spoke to on the phone, or sent texts to, or gave me advice on BS about what to do and where to go, it may not of been much to you, but to me it's going to be a lifetime of memories. You guys are never gonna be short of a sofa to crash on in the UK, or a beer to be drunk, or a story to be told or listened to. The USA has always been a country I have had many emotions about and they have now been amplified a lot more. I understand the country and its people much more and made some good friends along the way. Sorry, if when I got drunk (or even when I was sobre) I may have rambled on, not being around people to speak to every day can make you almost forget how to behave. :D

I will be back in September at the latest for a couple of weeks to see the Giants play at the Medowlands before they move out and I will hit up some other cities. Most definately will be in Chicago again, I love this city. If I can live anywhere in the USA it will be Chicago (though Austin, TX was cool too). The Globe is an awesome place, I really wish we had a pub like that in England.

I am gutted to have to go home but can't wait to see my girlfriend, friends and family. Thank you all so much for making this great for me. See you all soon.

    Matt

It was great meeting up with you Matt. I'm glad you had a fun time in the states. It's always nice having some friends to meet up with on your travels. We've got a good little crew of people, huh? Make sure to meet up with some of the English side of the "family" when you get back to London. I'm sure i'll see you on my next trip over the pond, hopefully sometime this Spring.

Was always a joy to chat or text! Sorry you couldn't make Boston, but here's hoping it's part of your next trip over. See you in the winter (think that's when I'm headed over).

Matt, it was great to hang out at The Globe and around River North when Cam was in town. Glad you enjoyed the USA and Chicago. Definitely let me know the next time you are in the area. I can probably convince my brother to let you sleep on our couch if you need a place to crash.

    Matt,

It was great to finally meet you and I'm thrilled that
you had a trip of a lifetime. Remember, you

in Chicago. (We have a guest room).

Good to know you had a good time over here in the States Matt! As I mentioned before, you really did get an interesting look at the country by being able to travel to so many different areas.

Also, I'm glad we got to meet up in Chicago, especially since we didn't get a chance to in Texas! Hopefully you can make it back this way sometime and we can make plans for some BBQ, beer, Tex-Mex, beer, football, beer, and maybe have a beer!

    Adios!

In fairness you've not lived through a Chicago winter yet, mate. I don't know anyone who loves this city in mid-March. :)

In any case, please do let us know when you are back. It was good having you around.

Or early April for that matter. I can still feel the windburn on my face from that April morning.

Haha, yeah, it was pretty cold this morning when I left. Not far from freezing and we had to wait to de-ice the plane. Then when I landed in Miami a bit ago its 82 bloody degrees. I've been in minus 60 before though, I am certain I could deal with Chicago's winters (and I'd love to give it a chance).

82 sounds perfect. Have a good time in Miami. Are you heading out in South Beach tonight?

Unfortunately not. I got 7 reports to get done by tomorrow and about $1.80 to my name, all of it in coins.

******** you. Englands been a worse place without me... or do I mean better? :D

We'll have to hook up for a pint when I am back, now that I am meeting up with the gun toting, burger eating, gas guzzling lot, I should start hanging out with the civilized side too!

Now that you are on the way home you can get together with your friends, throw some shrimp on the barbie and crack open some cans of Fosters!

Have a good trip back and say hi to the wallabies for us!:D

By the way, I won't be using my US cell number any more, it probably will be cut off in a bit anyway. If anyone wants my UK cell send me a PM.
