Do you know for a fact if these guys are any good?

Perhaps judgement should be saved until these guys actually play regular season games.

TFC has had a Brazilian on the team. He was mediocre.

Can we get Chad Barrett to trade places with Rooney while he's in town?

IF, and a mighty big if it is, Man U come to Canada they would be without most, if not all, of its stars. They would all be in the world cup. So if you want to watch reserves and academy players and be charged a vast sum to do so, good luck. Better to close your eyes and dream some more.

Thing is, there are probably enough people in the GTA willing to pay $200 a ticket to see ManU's reserve squad

Dunno, the pre-season tours tend to be in late July/early Aug - the world cup will be done by then. If they do come I can't see them commanding $200 a ticket unless the contract stipulates their stars play at least a half. The price point will dictate who plays - I could see half that for just the team showing up like Benfica did - no way they command much more than that for kids and subs.

Sure, if they play their first team, Rooney et al won't really have an much of an off-season this year but that's nothing new either.

They will NOT come on the US tour without their star players. This is a money thing and a brand expansion of sorts. If Real, Barca, Chelsea, Inter and AC Milan come here with their top players, so will ManU.

    Re: TFC Off-season rumour thread

It would be odd if they didn't have most of their star players there as the tour is all about selling the brand and you need the star power of players to do that but I agree there would be people who would pay $200 to watch even the likes of Darron Gibson and Mame Biram Diouf gracing the pitch.

^ Muhamadu is a winger. There's a Dutch poster on the V's who is familiar with him who says that he has a couple of great outings each season, but the rest of the year he just collects his paycheque.

Again? Wasn't he on trial last year as well? Mo must really like him... Personally, I think he's a bit of a Chad Barrat - works real hard, but doesn't get much results.

    Re: TFC Off-season rumour thread

I wouldn't read too much into is, I guess it would get a little more attention as he is a player who has played at a good level of football in the past but I would be surprised to see us sign a 37 year old striker who is having a hard time finding a League One side.

I don't believe so. Two years ago he came to BMO with Darren Huckerby to check out the team, city, facilities, etc. That was before Huckerby signed with SJ.

If Akinbiyi failed so miserably in MLS, I don't expect Dickov to fare much better. Still, we live in hope.
