We started discussing this at some point but didn't really continue.

I think we do need to go into the stadium a little earlier than normal but I don't know how much earlier.

Normally that tailgate would start at 11 am. Is it worth it to start earlier? Will people come out at 10 am on a Sunday morning?

We will have to get the supplies the day before from the Mezz so we could probably start earlier if people will show up. Do we want to do something different for the menu? I figure most people will still be eating between noon and 1 pm so the normal stuff should be OK but we might be able to do something different. We'll have to talk to the Mezz and see what kinds of options we have.

Oh, and there was a rumor that the game time was going to change. Which might affect our plans.

If your planning on sitting in 213 or 214, I would get to the seats as soon as the gates open. Otherwise you'll be getting into fights with soccer moms for our section. That would mean in the seats by noon, therefore tailgate at 10.

    Hey All,
I just wanted to say, "You All Rock!" I made it out to my first TA Tailgate last weekend and had alot of fun. I'm not a TA member and I normally try to sit in 220, but as far as tailgates go, that will not be my last! :)

I also learned another thing....those Black Iguana Margarita are good! :D

I moved the posts about how to act in the TA section at the stadium to the main TA thread: Texian Army, although, as some people have pointed out, it's probably better to have internal TA discussions on the TA boards (www.texianarmy.org).

Let's keep this thread for tailgate information and updates. People come to this forum all the time looking for that info and it's really helpful to have it in a thread that's easy to find and in which the info is easy to locate.

allright i was sick for Aug 18th (FC Frisco) tailgate and was not able to be of much help to Newtex. btw, i was on medication so if i said or acted strange you now know why....

well on August 26th (Columbus) i have an afternoon wedding to attend, so i will not be arriving until game time in my formal attire. can some TA members go around asking Newtex (requisition department) or NumeroDos (grill engineer) if they need any help. the tailgate is a a lot of fun for the eaters/drinkers, but can become overwhelming when there are just 2 people there to set-up, cook and clean. thanks in advance to anyone who helps out....

btw, you're just picking up my slack it not like i do much. :D

I hope not. Three of us have to fly out that evening (and made those flight plans bc of the game time). I will be extremely pi**ed off if they switch it like that after assigning a time. I will have to decide between spending a couple hundred or missing the game.

The game is Saturday the 25th, not the 26th. Just wondering if you had the days confused.

Well, it's true. They are trying to move the game to 6PM. Even in beginning of October, a 2PM start will still be hot hot hot.

As far as the tailgate is concerned, I'd say this (assume 2PM start):

    -At least 1 extra keg
    -Cook somethin special?
    -Start at 10:30AM...I'd be there!!
-If you cook somethin that requires some time (like steak or somethin) startin early will help get those ready.
-Corn on the cob! (I don't like it but I know lots who do)
-Recruit people to help you guys out
-More drinks...maybe some LoneStar or Shiner?

    Just some thoughts

The future of Texian Army tailgates:

    Saturday, September 1

    Dynamo v. Kansas City
    Game time: 7:30 pm
Full tailgate starting at around 4:30 pm.

    Saturday, September 8

    Dynamo v. Real Salt Lake
    Game time: 7:30 pm
Full tailgate starting at around 4:30 pm.

And then a one final tailgate in October against the Beckhams whether he is here or not.

"Chicken for breakfast!" was my request for chicken at the LA game tailgate, if the game's still on for 2 p.m.

    No "loosy goosy" stuff, Schwabe.

    Help!

This coming Saturday I will not be able to pick up supplies at the Mezz for the tailgate and Dynamo Dave will not be able to help with that as he has done for most of the season.

NumeroDos is planning to be at the Mezz at 4 pm to load supplies and it would be great if we could get someone to commit to being there to help him.

Also, the earliest that I can make it is halftime. And since I have the cups in my trunk, someone may want to pick up some extra cups or you will have to drink straight from the Tap, not that there is anything wrong with that of course.
