You've seen our overhead skull & scarf banner, now get the shirt.

Non-members can buy the orange version, the black version is for Texian Army members only. The shirts are $10 ea. We're selling these at our tailgates.

You should design a scarf for non-members, I like the checkered look, it is a classic look, I would buy one.

This is not a normal ATPAg musing. Be careful with that design buys. The SOB's from Philly might have a copyright or patent or whatever. If nothing else, they might say you ripped it off from them. Our SG's are the best, I don't want to give anyone ammunition.

Back to normal ATPAg......I wish I could buy one but nobius filed a petition in the 26th court of appeals saying that I am not allowed to purchase nor affiliate with anything that has to do with the Texian Army. I like the shirt though.

I want to buy two scarfs for $100 each. I've tried to join, but you guys seem to be kinda a closed outfit. I went to a tailgate and was told you guys want to get to know me better before letting me join.

Why would I spend $200 on the scarfs? To support TA. I appreciate what you guys do. I'll take on a minor sugardaddie role :p

so come out some more and hang out, support the team in 231, and you can join. We're certainly not closed. But there are qualifications that new members have to meet. You would have to become a new member to buy a scarf.

And if you join, buy a scarf and then stop showing up we'll send dynakat after you to repossess it!

Maybe Mr. Games can't be at 231 all the time since he lives in Austin. cut the dude some slack !!!

But not for me to say

    p.s.

For two hundred bucks I'll reenact the El Guapo Birthday party scene from the Three Amigos !!

I've come over there a few times when neither my wife nor anyone else comes to the game with me. My season tickets are nowhere near 231.

If watching the games in 231 is a requirement then I just can't meet that requirement. I'm rarely there alone, generally with my wife, family member or a business associate.

I'd love to support the TA for what you do, if there is a way to do that reasonably.

I've only missed two games this year. I won't miss another this year no matter where it is played, except for San Salvador.

Any post that has El Guapo and Bandido in the same sentence wins funniest post of the day.

That scene should be in the AFI list of top ten movie moments!!!!

Do you have two of those cool TA scarfs? If so, throw in the scarfs and the party scene and you have a deal. I'll even buy you a beer or 10.

We'd love to have you in 231. But if you can't do that we don't want or need charity. I'm not doubting your devotion to the orange.

Now I'm just speaking for myself here- I'm no TA spokesman. But I'm proud of what I do. And I don't like seeing scarves outside of 231. But 231 isn't for everyone- and I don't think any less of you because you entertain a family and clients, and sit during games.

You guys should be proud of what you do. I respect the right for TA to decide for itself its membership criteria, who it sells stuff to, etc. I was hoping it was an open membership fan club, but I don't resent TA if it is not. I've sincerely wanted to find a way to support both TA and EB because I love what you bring. I'm happy that you guys really have no need for help.

Now -- about your scarves :) . You should safety pin yours to your shirt incase I'm walking past now that I know I will have steal one to get it :p

BTW ... I don't sit during games. My season tickets were strategically selected to have standing space with a cement wall behind it right next to my seats. My own personal standing space. No one behind me to bother me. :)

DonJuego, there are several ways you can support TA without becoming a member. Stop by a tailgate (it's $7 for nonmembers), buy the orange skull & scarf shirt, donate streamers, confetti or money for the section. The money we collect goes into helping us make whatever you see in and around 231.

One of the benefits of membership is access to exclusive merchandise, like the scarves. We take pride in what we do to support the Dynamo, and those scarves represent the dedication our members give to the team each and every week.

I appreciate your thoughts -- except perhaps your implication that your more dedicated than others. I've not complained about a thing. I support that if you only want members who sit with you then fine -- its your club. I support that your not selling your scarves. Fine. I made all that clear in earlier posts. In regard to the rather snarky implication about dedication. Whatever.

It's not really so much about what members of SGs may think about the dedication of fans who aren't in an SG. Many other fans who aren't in an SG are obviously dedicated and passionate supporters of the club.

It's more about the specific way that people choose to express that dedication and passion. People who choose to join an SG have agreed to do certain things - and not do certain other things - as part of a coordinated group. Most of them have also agreed to devote additional time and effort to engage in certain other regular activies, like practicing songs and chants, painting the group's banners and flags, etc. Joining an SG means making a decision to accept specific responsibilities.

By making those decisions, members of SGs do not necessarily imply that other fans aren't also dedicated or passionate in their support of the team, or don't devote plenty of their own personal time and effort in doing so. It's just that people choose different ways to demonstrate that support. Joining an SG is a certain way of supporting the team that requires specific things.

The gear that bears the SG's name and logos, like scarves and certain shirts, as well as the banners and flags that SG members display in their section, are physical representations of the time and effort that SG members devote as part of the group.

Those things are clearly also part of the visual support that the SG provides to the team. That's why they're consistent with the team's colors and often refer to members of the team or concepts associated with the city and its history.

But they're also the physical products of a great deal of time and work that SG members have invested in specific ways as a group. SG members are taking pride in each other's efforts and collective dedication when they wear their group's name on their chest or display the group's flags and banners in their section. It's about pride in your own work and effort. That's not meant as any sort of slight to any other fans.

It's also common for SGs to sell some gear to the public, while holding others only for members. Many of the biggest SGs in Brazil now have online stores - and, in some cases, physical store fronts - where they sell an assortment of stuff, much of it with the SG's name or logos. Some of them sell all their merchandise to the public. Others sell most merchandise to the public, but hold back certain items for members. Some sell their merchandise only to card-carrying members. It depends on how much money they want to make and what sort of statement they want to make about themselves. My point is that it's almost always about what the SG thinks about itself, rather than what SG members may think about other fans.
