Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Perhaps my memory is hazy, but didn't NBC's telecast of the 2000 Olympic football tournament break into commercial?
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups MY mom just made a chilling prophesy while watching the panamerican games. It would suck if telemundo would spend all this money and have to hire fernando Schwartz due to a lack of announcers
this! the Azteca crew are my favorite I'm just glad that in the 2018 WC and beyond we don't have to listen to the pair of morons from Univision anymore in regards to Univision losing out to the WC rights, I quote that dumbass Pablo Ramirez - "se la perdioooooooo"
lol, I like it when the crowd yells Puto and there like, La genta ya hasta esta gritando Jorge Campos!!
Fantastic news! (I literally did a celebratory fist-pump) Univision and TVAzteca are shit. But Univision moreso than TVAzteca though. This also means that I'll be able to watch mis Chivas whooping your asses on Telemundo in HD in the very near future. *fist-pump*

Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Telemundo > Cubavision the only thing Univision has over Telemundo is the image quality of games. Telemundo gets that fixed and we are set! at least the coverage and pre-game stuff will be a lot more professional and informative. won't have to put up with Cubavision's crap.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups no more senadoras at games tho ;_;? During the Oakland game against paraguay i walked by their little tent just lol'n at the dudes beastin off them after successfully acquiring my little swag bag from these peeps giving shit away......and so i took a right to hit a shortcut back to my peeps where they were drinking and as i passed the one with blonde hair made eye contact with me and smiled...... i dont wanna exaggerate...buuuuut....yeah bish wanted my children basically >_>

Anyway, the next thing to look out for are the qualifiers. Does anyone know how long the contracts El Tri have with TeleUnivMunVisionDo are for?
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups wait so Telemundo only won the world cup tv rights? does that mean the qualifiers are gonna be on univision?
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Pretty sure that the WC and Qualifiers rights are 2 different things I think that Univision will still have the rights for Mexico's qualifying games and friendlies
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Well the rights for the quals have to be up for bid sometime in the future, I do not know how long the current deal is, but perhaps in 4-8 years (or sooner) Telemundo could out bid Univision for the rights to the qualification games.
Re: Telemundo and Fox Sports win TV rights for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups Telemundo has the rights to the away games through 2013. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...p-qualifying-away-matches-through-2013/86405/
Univision gets Mexico's home qualifiers (for 2014) and Telemundo gets the away qualifers (except vs USA).
Thanks for the info. Basically, it means El Tri will go back to the market right after 2013 or thereabouts, right? That should be the next major rights battle to come. I would think Telemundo will even fight for the rights to show the visit to the U.S. of A for the cycle after this coming one.
For that to happen they would have to buy the rights for the USANT quals. Remember Telemundo is an American company so Univision having the American rights for the USA means they (Univision) show the game (USA-MEX).
dont know if it happens to all but telemundo here in socal has crap HD quality Unividion has good HD quality but bad host and commentators
