Boca was very bad, but he covered for Gooch several times. If I had to do it over again I would keep Boca and put someone else beside him. Dolo was not great, but not terrible. Johnson was great. Dunno how you thought he was bad.

It's kind of sad that, after all these years, the defense is still reliant on Bocanegra, Gooch, and Cherundolo.

I really liked what I saw out of Johnson going forward.

Been singing it for years. Think they picked it up off us when we went out there for the UEFA Cup Final. Leverkusen use it too.

I think Kagawa is a far better signing than Hazard and will feel an obvious need the skanks have had since Scholes left ...

My question is...where is Jay Demerit?

I personally think he is/was better than Gooch.

He does seem to have dropped off the national team radar--he's with Vancouver now. Not exactly an infusion of youth in any event: he's 32.

The backline does need youth. They're all so slow and have minimal technical skills in the middle.

If Omar G hadn't gotten injured I think he'd be shining right now.

Though Klinnsman didn't call him up when he was healthy. Still, he'd be better than Gooch, right? Also, was there a reason Tim Ream (whom Klinsi rates highly, from what I understand) didn't feature in the last three friendlies?

But he'd be playing in Germany, so he'd be guaranteed a callup. ;)

Omar* clearly needs to find a long lost German mother.

*BTW, is it possible to think about Omar Gonzalez without "Farmer in the Dell" whistling in my head?

Not bad. Would look a lot better with a giant gray ring around the neck.

Actually I'm thinking white with some nice blue trim and adidas type striping would be perfect for them...

I think Adidas uniform designs are the best from the main football brands. Well, them and Kappa actually. The fit of Kappa uniforms is so metrosex! I still wear my 2000 Italian national team shirt. :inlove:
