Costa Rica is one of the poorest places on earth, where are they coming out with the money? Surely Qatar or UAE would pay us more.

Don't really know but I do know that the Spanish Federation is milking Spains championships for all of their worth. The players have complained about it before. No offense to Costa Rica but I'd rather not see Spain play that day.

I believe you are incorrect when it comes to your poorest places on the earth statement. Actually they are according to the 2010 IMF's rating above the world average ($10,922) in GDP and are one place below Brazil at $11,043.

There are other European countries below Costa Rica when it comes to GDP rankings such as Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and the Ukraine.

Spain will never be as popular as the brazil national team is all around the world. Brazil is more coveted by other nations to play them than any country in the world. Just because spain had one good world cup doesnt mean they surpassed brazil.

First off, congrats on winning the Copa America last year.
Second, who said anything about Spain being more popular than whoever? Fact is whichever team wears the title of "defending World Cup champions" other nations will be keen on hosting them. Spain wears that title today, thus the travels to Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Puerto La Cruz, Boston, Bari, San Jose... hell, even Brasil's home away from home, London, invited the defending champs over for 90 minutes.
However, Brasil can take over this summer's world tour since La Furia has other priorities in Eastern Europe.
