What's the roster and line up for this game? And overall how are bayern playing? I don't have any access to this game
Neur Lahm - DVB - Badstuber - Gustavo Kroos-Tymo Robben - Muller - Shaqiri Gomez Boa for DVB, Can for Tymo and Mandzukic for Gomez in the 2nd half
I'm surprised @ bold Lineup neuer-Lahm Badstuber-Buyten-Gustavo--Tymo-Kroos--Shaqiri-Muller-Robben--Gomez
Badstuber and Buyten should never co-exist. It is the slowest pair we have by a mile and for that reason alone we can't play it. There is no point in doing it in friendlies either, but it's a horrible tactical move and no reason to try it out to see. We have seen it all before, this duo together doesn't work. This is my idea as well. Personally Gomez's nice personality is his own undoing here. If Uli would have given 2 interviews in a week for either Ribery or Robben, they would have went to the press and told him to kiss his ass. However in this case, he goes and says it to Gomez.
To be all honest, I hope I´ll never see Van Buyten in an Bayern starting 11 in an important (= BuLi/Cup/CL) game again if the other options are fully fit.
Game over 3-2 for Bayern. Goals by Can and Shaqiri, blunder by Kroos in the last minute to give up the second goal.
Whether you guys like it or not, Van Buyten will still play a significant role on this Bayern team this season.
Why? He hasn't been first choice for a while and Dante was clearly bought as the no3/ challenger for a starting spot. Buyten's role in the squad is being marginalized, and though I'm really grateful for his dedication to the club, I think it's the right move. Barring injury, I don't expect to see him play consistently except maybe in the DFB Pokal.
People here asked why 3 years ago and he always stayed in contention. He is reliable, he is a "safe" choice and he is well liked by everyone. There is almost always a very strong player hierarchy at Bayern and VB is high on that list.
So if a player is well liked even if he isn't good enough should be playing a lot? I agree with Garmischa, let him play in the Pokal otherwise I don't want to see him playing. Especially with Badstuber, that combination hurts my eyes.
DvB was first choice until his injury. We don't know if Jupp sees Dante as an option for the RCB spot or if Boateng/DvB and Badstuber/Dante fight for the two positions. Jupp recently stated after a friendly that it was a chance to try something different like a left-footed CB pairing.
Also, keep in mind that DvB is an older player that is coming off of an injury that sidelined him for a while. It will take him longer to come back and will take more work to maintain his form. I'm fairly sure that this plays into him getting more minutes in preseason. Don't think any of the others have fitness concerns. The other shifts are about finding out what options we have with both Rafinha and Alaba injured. If either of them takes longer to recover than expected or reinjures or ends up with a secondary injury then we will still need two options on the outside back at either side. Looks like our possible options at RB are Lahm/Rafinha/Boateng and Alaba/Contento/Gustavo at LB. Also seems Heynckes would rather keep Shaqiri up top but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a try at back in preseason as well.
I didnt follow the match, why Ribery wasnt on the field? Is there anybody hungry? Hungry like the wolf.........
http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/m...-haben-ihn-die-bayern-satt-25443322.bild.html "Franz to Bild yesterday: If Gomez played with more variation; moving towards the ball more rather than away from it - then he could score twice as many goals." Edit: I asked my wife if that translation makes any sense and she said "Makes a lot of sense to me - moving towards the ball(s) is always better"
Mandzukic made two defense-splitting passes for the 2nd and 3rd goals against FCK. I wonder how crushed Gomez will be if he is benched after all the comments from Uli and Scholl.
